TEST DRIVE MEME
TEST DRIVE MEME | ||
Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:
Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town. |
Zolf Kimbley / Fullmetal Alchemist 2003
[If there's one thing Kimbley has realized about himself, it's that he is completely, hopelessly bad directionally. Even so, he doesn't think that he's normally this bad at getting lost.
Whatever the hell is going on, he doesn't like it in the least. His palms itch, and he wishes, more than anything, that his alchemy worked in this damn place. He curses under his breath, feeling anxious and a little alarmed. He's alone, unarmed, and he's starting to get the feeling that he's being followed. It's making him want to blow up something.
Kimbley claps his palms together in a swift movement, even though it does absolutely nothing anymore.]
Stop following me!
[It's not until it's out of his mouth that he realizes hissing at the air is going to accomplish nothing. Kimbley feels on edge. He doesn't get nervous. Yet here he is, feeling anxious and helpless and it's starting to get to him.
He stands in the clearing, glaring, hoping whatever it is that's laughing at him leaves.]
Mr. Explodey Hands! :D
[Reiner has been minding his own business, moving through the woods, when someone yells at him. He rolls his bright, glowing yellow eyes; some people just have no sense of direction, and now this guy is lost. It's pretty obvious, with the way he's been blundering through the woods, making enough noise to wake the dead. Reiner considers just leaving him, but he knows he can't. There's creepy stuff out in the woods, and he's not going to let some poor, dumb soul fall prey to whatever is out here.]
[He walks into the clearing, enormous, impossibly broad-shouldered, his eyes glowing like fog lamps.]
You're lost, aren't you?
Hello there :D
His hands slide into his pockets as he adjusts his stance, trying to get a read on him. It's difficult, from a glance alone and after a long moment Kimbley decides it's not possible at the moment. Maybe he'll learn more, sticking around the guy. It would be better than remaining unaware of just who he's dealing with.]
Just a bit turned around. This forest is bigger than I thought.
[Why would he outright admit to being lost, especially to a stranger? He still has his pride, after all.]
no subject
I'm heading towards one of the main paths that leads back to town. You can come with me, if you want.
[Or he can wander around lost in the woods for awhile longer. Reiner can easily track him back down if he chooses the latter option and needs some time alone in the trees.]
no subject
He smirks at the offer, his shoulders shrugging, hands still in his pocket.]
Sure. I'd rather leave this place as soon as possible.
no subject
Follow me, then.
[He turns and shows his back to Kimbley, starting off through the woods towards the path. He doesn't particularly like how the guy keeps his hands in his pockets, but he still doesn't view him as the remotest threat.]
You just got here, didn't you?
no subject
I haven't been here for very long, no.
[And he has, just barely, enough restraint to ask "what are you?" to the stranger. If he were still in Amestris, he'd know what to call him, but since he's not...]

It makes him feel irritated and does nothing to help his anxiety.]
Who's there?
no subject
[Yeah, she's not gonna give up her name that easily. :I]
[And for the time being, she's hidden in the shadows. She does sound just a tad amused, though.]
no subject
Show yourself.

[Dude your indignance only fuels her insatiable need to be a pain in the ass.]
no subject
If you don't--!
[How threatening. But there's nothing he can do about it, and he knows it. What the hell is wrong with this place, anyway, for him to lose his alchemy so suddenly?]

H-Hey there. You're stuck too?
[He waves a hand, belatedly realizing his claws are making his gesture less than friendly. He sticks his hands in his pockets.]
no subject
It looks that way.

[Ryoji tries to smile back, but his nerves are showing. He wonders if the newcomer will comment on his appearance…]
no subject
You make it sound like this forest is alive, kid.
no subject
Who knows? Maybe it is. All I know is that getting lost here isn’t pleasant… but we found a way out last time.
So we’ll be fine.
no subject
[He says this much too casually, like it doesn't bother him at all. like his nerves aren't completely shot and he isn't losing his patience.]
Does that mean you know the way out of here?

[There's a teenager leaning up against a tree, looking as if he knows where he is instead of the actual fact that he is completely and utterly lost just like Kimbley.]
no subject
Are you one of the locals?
...No, you couldn't be. They don't like getting near me.
no subject
I'm really sure it's not just the locals that don't like to get near you, what with that sunny disposition of yours.
no subject
It's fairly obvious that it's meant to be a threat even if it is useless, but he doesn't move to attack the kid.]
You have a lot of nerve.
no subject
[He waves his hand to accent his point and grins, looking more amused than anything. The clap was something he noticed and would have to figure out what it meant. An ability of some sort? Who knew beyond the man in front of him.]
no subject
Are you going to stand around here all day? I'm looking for an exit with or without you.
