TDM: SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
(CW: Human remains)
When you awaken, you are hit with an immediate feeling of motion. A bobbing, if you will, or perhaps more of a rocking. You take a deep breath through your nose and take note of salt, along with the pungent scent of rotting wood. Creaking sounds echo all around you. Sitting up, you find yourself locking eyes with a skull.
An entire human skeleton is positioned across from you, resting limply against a pillar. Surveying the rest of your surroundings, you soon realize that you're below deck on an old, dilapidated ship. A ship that's on the move. The crew must have suffered a terrible fate, strewn as they all are across the floor. With their ripped poofy shirts, sheathed cutlasses and jaunty feathered hats, they seem to scream one word at you. "Pirates". ...Ooh, is that an abandoned bottle of rum? And a treasure chest? Surely they won't mind if you help yourself. They're dead, after all!
Once you've ascended the creaky steps, you find yourself on the deck of this vast, once proud vessel. A tattered Jolly Roger flaps overhead. Thick fog obscures most of the ocean surrounding you, but what's that straight ahead? Land ho! The ship's about to make port, and a crowd of curious onlookers has already gathered on the docks to stare up at this spooky new arrival. They appear apprehensive, perhaps even fearful, as if they haven't seen a ship come in for a long time. Will they hold you accountable for what happened to the skeleton crew? Will they praise you for 'ridding' them of pirates and allow you to keep the booty? There's no way to know just yet. Perhaps you'd best hide and find a way to disembark without being seen. Or perhaps there's someone else to be found here on this ship who suffered the same fate; someone who has a better idea of what to do.
SCENARIO TWO
You've stumbled your way into a city, and you're promptly besieged by the overwhelming sights and sounds. Cars honk at you to get out of the street, and strangers try not to look in your direction for too long. They see your lost expression and your clothes- so different from their own- and pretend to busy themselves with something else. Rarely, a look of pity is cast your way.
But some people try to reach out. Enterprising citizens and those that hope to curry favor with the newcomers pass out new clothes and bundles of food, asking if you have a place to stay the night, wondering about the details of the world you came from. A hefty laptop may be handed to you, with words of a ‘network’ used for communication. Wonder what that’s about? Then there’s the very confusing pamphlet stuffed within: "What To Expect When You're Expecting (To Turn Into A Monster)”. They may direct you to an organisation known as the Lighthouse, their members most prominently found at the 38-8 apartments and the Lighthouse Church. Or perhaps, if you're injured, they'll refer you to the Crowe Clinic instead. Unfortunately, the directions you're given are so very complicated that you lose your way in the streets after two left turns, a right and a left at the soup kitchen.
Take care when asking for more help. There are the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
Now that you've found a moment of peace, you open up the mysterious device that's been handed to you. Perhaps you'll recognize it as some sort of laptop, albeit an old and clunky one. Or perhaps you'll be astounded by this curious feat of technology, which is unlike anything you've ever seen before. Regardless, the moment the lid is propped open to reveal the screen and the keyboard within, you gain your first glimpse of the network.
Perhaps you'll want to choose a username and write your very first message, posing the pressing question that's on your mind at this very moment. The lettered buttons click and clack awkwardly beneath your fingertips as you type.
However, you may instead want to respond to today's most popular message.
WELCOME TO RSDOS. PRESS F1 TO COMPOSE POST. *** TODAY’S TOP POST *** 018.07.154.55 <JUSTSOMEGUY> Let's play Two Truths, One Lie! It's real easy! You just post three statements about yourself, and the rest of us have to guess the lie. It'll be fun! And you get to be a liar liar without your pants catching fire for a bit. |
SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Does it fit you, or does it feel incongruous with your nature? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
no subject
You spoil me... Do I really deserve something so nice? Or is it because you plan to end this world that you want to be indulgent?
[Perhaps that's it, that almost makes more sense. They're here now because of a game, because of this challenge that rests between them. That's why Atem asked him to be his boyfriend, and threatened marriage.
He might as well lean into it.]
So then, would you rather see me in a suit... or a dress?
no subject
I think you'd look stunning in either one...as long as it was made to suit you, and you felt nice in it.
Ah, Nagito, you're giving me too little credit...
[He shuts his eyes and waves his hand.]
If anyone were to get married to me, my first concern would be that they wore something they liked, and that they felt nice in!
[His eyes open, finding Komaeda's.]
For a monster...that's hard to find in a human mall. So, whether the world was ending, or not...I'd make sure you looked good, and felt good, while you were getting married to me. After all...isn't this a fantasy of what might happen, if the world goes on despite me?
[He lets out a heh!]
Either way, I'd want it to be a memory you treasured, for the rest of your life. In that case, I might take even more care, if the world wasn't ending...
no subject
Still, the sentiment isn't lost on him, and he smiles down at Atem as their gazes meet.]
Just the experience alone would be a memory I treasure. Clothes wouldn't make much of a difference to me.
[In reality, it would definitely be much easier to just let Atem pick for him. But oh well! Like he said, the whole world is en route to ending.]
Hmm... that reminds me, is there anything else you haven't done yet, that you want to do? Like a bucket list. Not just things you want to do with me... but things you've always hoped to do, in general?
no subject
...
[Oddly....not really?]
This might sound strange, but...
...I don't really have a list of goals. Most of what I want, but haven't done, has to do with missed opportunities...what I didn't understand was possible, until I gave it up.
[Komaeda himself...that's a big one.]
Before Ryslig, I didn't have a life so much as a purpose...
...and, here, finding out what I like has been mostly trial and error...heh heh.
[He shuts his eyes, gives a shrug!]
I want to see all of the good things left in Ryslig. I want to experience the things here that don't exist anywhere else. Maybe I'll like them, or maybe I won't...but they're about to go from rare to extinct, so I should try them first.
[He looks over.]
Do you have a bucket list, Nagito?
no subject
Well, except for in this case.]
Tell me, Atem-kun... would you have asked me to be your boyfriend, ever, if you weren't planning to destroy Ryslig?
[His voice is quieter when his asks it, his smile fading and revealing an expression a bit more somber, a bit more him even with limited facial movement.]
Or would you stay my friend forever, despite our feelings being mutual?
[Komaeda tightens his grip on Atem's hand by fractions as if, regardless of the answer, he refuses to let it go.]
no subject
He's quiet a second, giving that the consideration it deserves.]
Forever is a long time.
This is one set of circumstances where I'd have asked you to be my boyfriend.
But it's not the only one!
[It's hard to say, exactly, the way things are now -- the circumstances around why he wants to end the world and why he's single are pretty closely connected. But this is an honest answer: it could have happened, under other circumstances.]
no subject
The thought might have hurt more if he hadn't had the pleasure of knowing Lila, of knowing her care and kindness. But she's not here anymore... and who knows how much longer Ryslig as a whole will be, too.]
You asked me if I had a bucket list— the answer is that I don't, not really. I had enough money before to do a lot of the things a person could want to do, but my luck made a lot of it impossible.
[An over awareness of the fact that any choice he made could lead to any number of possible bad endings made doing most anything impossible. His life outside of what his luck determined for him was largely spent indoors with a book, the only way he could ensure he'd be safe.]
Before, I only ever wished to feel someone's love. [His voice is quieter still, and he avoids looking at Atem.] But when I confessed my love to Hinata-kun in our world, my feelings weren't returned, and I died right after.
It feels sort of like that now, too. I keep wondering to myself... maybe I'm still unlucky? Like the universe is telling me I can enjoy it for a bit, but not forever.
[A breathy huff of laughter leaves him, though there isn't a single ounce of humor in it. Komaeda finally looks down at Atem with a melancholy smile, and realizes himself a bit belatedly—]
Oh! But don't get me wrong! I'm thankful for this experience now, but it's rather hopeless isn't it? I'm loved, but only at the end.
no subject
this is so sad alexa play despacito]If you're looking for someone to give you hope, Nagito -- the hope that you could enjoy anything forever --
...you're talking to the wrong guy!
[Sorry. But it is pretty hopeless. They only get to see what this is like, what they're like, when there's a deadline. Atem can't argue it.]
Nothing's eternal. I would know...
[Pyramids, tombs, mummies, monuments -- they last a long time, but not forever. Any world is the same. His was nearly destroyed, twice...who knows how many other threats are out there?
To save the world, you have to get it right every time. But a plan to destroy it only has to work once.]
Even if we thought we had all the time in the world, something would happen, to separate us. The only difference is that we wouldn't be in control of when that end is...when it happened, it would catch us by surprise.
[Is that better, he wonders? The false hope of forever, the illusion that they had endless time, when really, something would cut in, and return them to a suffering state?]
no subject
[Komaeda laughs, abrupt yet still airy enough that he seems to be genuinely nonchalant about the excessive despair he's endured his entire life. No, he knows better than most, he believes, that no good thing lasts forever. Every good event will be followed by bad, and vice versa—an endless cycle he's never once been able to escape, even in Ryslig.]
But... that's sort of the reason I'm mad at you! I would've liked to date you before you decided to fall into despair.
[He says he's mad but the only real notion of it is the pout his fishy features can't quite make. A bit of a brow furrow gets him partially there, but it's not the same a proper mouth muscles.]
You know... take it from me, the guy who's had to endure bad luck his entire life... sometimes the unknown is scary, but you can't be scared of it forever. If you let despairing thoughts control your life, then you won't get to live it.
[It had taken him a long time to learn to act despite the scary things that can happen, but once he did, he was finally able to experience all the things he had waited far too long for.]
Besides, Atem-kun... it's not your responsibility to face things alone. You have all of your friends, you know. I'll protect you too... the best I can.
no subject
...he'll just have to live with it, won't he...? There's plenty to be mad about, that's happened because of Ryslig. This is a drop in a very, very big bucket.]
Hah....
[It's humorless.]
...I'm sorry, Nagito. I wish I could say, I know you will!
But, I can't! Because you can't protect me. Not from Ryslig! No one can. If the power behind this place has decided that I'm going to be hurt, then...no amount of powers or planning, or even friends, can change that. Ryslig doesn't let anything interfere with putting monsters through pain.
[He's not looking at Komaeda. He's waling towards the mall, and holding Komaeda's hand, and looking ahead at the pavement.]
It's not the unknown that's made me this way, Nagito. If it were still "the unknown," I'd be able to deal with it...but, it's actually too certain! It's certain that it'll be bad, and certain that nothing can be done about it! Unfortunately, too many of those things happened, while you were away...
[His eyes go distant. How many times...?]
...unfortunately, those things change us. You didn't come back until after I realized how hopeless it is, here...how useless it really is to fight. You'll have to settle for the "me" that's left...
...the rest got burned away.

He gets where Atem is coming from. To feel like nothing good can ever come from the situation you're caught in, to feel like your back is up against the wall that no one else seems to see. He understands it so viscerally, it almost makes him sad that Atem is too jaded to commiserate with him in that feeling properly.
But there's only so many times he can tell Atem that he understands before giving up altogether, because Atem is determined to mire in the resolution that Komaeda couldn't possibly understand. His words aren't getting through but... he's not panicked about it. He's expected death for years now, both in his own world and this one. Perhaps if anything, it just hurts knowing that it will come at the hands of someone who should care about him.
No, this is protection in its own way isn't it? And yet, he can't help thinking that this is what Hinata must've felt like, when Komaeda conspired to do the very same. The him from back then, he saw that plan of destruction as protection, too.]
It's not settling, [he finally says, as his pace matches Atem's,] I've wanted this for a long time... so I'm happy that I finally get to have you!
Even if you're despaired, you're still the you I fell in love with.
[As if to give reassurance, his hand gives Atem's a little squeeze.]
At least this time I can date the one I care about before I die.
no subject
If Atem didn't care, then...
...he'd just pull the plug on the Monster's Pearl as soon as he had a ship he thought he could trust, and left everyone to sacrifice parts of themselves to stop it up again, re-trapping themselves in the machine, committing to living out their days in pain and misery here.
But he does care.
So, he's taking down the whole thing.
He feels that little squeeze, and hears what's said -- huh, so there's still enough of who he used to be for Komaeda to recognize, is there...? That's almost surprising to him. And, it's true, that this time, they can date...
Atem brings Komaeda's hand up to his chest, but this time, he doesn't kiss it. He brings his other hand up, and squeezes Komaeda's in both of his -- a more wholesome expression of affection, one less pointed, less calculated for effect.]
That's true...
...I'm glad about that, too.
[He lets their hands fall back between them, and, when they reach the mall doors, Atem pulls them open. It's not a gentlemanly thing, it's a practical one: he doesn't want to stop holding hands long enough for Komaeda to get the door for him. Komaeda's hand is occupied, thanks!
As they step inside, Atem sweeps the atrium in front of them with his eyes.]
Ah...I really can put you in anything I want...
[He sounds pleased about it, and thoughtful. Mostly to himself, he murmurs as they go along:]
Now, what would look good with your colors...? Nothing too formal, nothing black and white. That'd be amateurish...we want to show them off, not fight them! A suit would say, "I don't know what I'm doing!" And, it wouldn't be comfortable, where we're going next...
no subject
It's why, as they hold hands and as Atem leads them to the mall proper, Komaeda resolves himself to do as he did before. This time, though, he promises himself he'll get better results. He'll have to figure out just how to do it without Atem getting suspicious, but... if he can get the other to lower his guard, then he can hopefully stall Atem long enough to get help from someone else to fix this situation.
To stop despair, you have to be willing to sacrifice everything. Komaeda has known that fact more intimately than anyone else, for the entirety of his life.]
No black and white... I'm not really fond of that combination! [He casts a smile downwards, as if he weren't just plotting the death of his friend within the confines of his mind, a second prior.] Despite these colorful scales of mine, I find myself wearing earthy tones, mostly... But I can't say they match well.
I'm not really good at fashion, Atem-kun. That's why I'm leaving it in your hands!
[He gives the hand within his own another squeeze, before casting his gaze out across the near-barren corridors of the indoor shopping mall.]
Why don't we just walk around and see if anything catches our eye? If you have any places you remember liking, we can try those first?
alright it's shopping montage capped with a paragraph about what the heroine is wearing time
Even if he's not planning something, the possibility that, at the last second, Atem will feel a knife in his back is very real.
The idea's a little thrilling. Atem sort of wants to confront Komaeda about it, but only later, when they're alone. Maybe while they're kissing. Definitely not now.
Right now is for walking around a mall, like a normal couple where one of them is fully naked in public. He runs his eyes over a few stores -- and as they pass one with dresses, of semi-to-formal fanciness, he'll remark -- ]
Not today, but another time--
[...but what's finally settled on, after a few things are tried on and Atem, sprawled on a dressing-room chair, checks the fit and shakes his head or nods, is a remarkably normal outfit from someone who goes around in a collar all the time. The cream collared shirt has sheer panels, which Komaeda's markings give the illusion of a pattern to, just more muted than the rest of his colors. The jacket and pants are complementary shades of blue, just far enough apart that it's not matchy, and some odds and ends of jewelry in gold.
Atem hands it to Komaeda, but keeps a hand on his arm, forestalling any putting-it-on-right-here-and-now-on-the-sales-floor Komaeda might be about to do.]
Come with me! Before you put it on.
[And, if he's not argued with, he starts leading Komaeda back to the dressing-room.]
I love his picks tbh
A part of him is a bit confused that the other doesn't just choose clothing that's more aligned with his own style, but he doesn't say anything about it. If Atem wants to see him in light colored, bookish clothing, then he can't really say no, can he? (He probably can, but he did promise that he would let the guy pick anything he wanted.)]
Oh—
[It always feels like he gets swept up in Atem's pace before even having a chance to think about anything. It's sort of endearing, if not thrilling, when he's just as eagerly rounded into the dressing room to, hopefully, try on the clothes Atem picked out.]
You're usually pretty forceful Atem-kun... but today it's like you're on fire! [Komaeda laughs as he backs up against the mirror behind him, unconsciously putting some distance between them as the realization that they're alone in a small, enclosed space looms over him.] Shall I put on those clothes, now?
HES NOT DONE YET. nothing's happening but it's about as nsfw as the rest of this
But that's not important. What's important is Komaeda is backing against the mirror, and Atem's expression changes to something more at home on a cat in a cage with a canary, if the canary were deeply endearing and also naked. He scents weakness.]
If I am, it's because you're allowing it!
[He steps forward, with purpose -- one hand goes to Komaeda's chest. It's light enough that Komaeda isn't being pushed against the mirror, or kept from breathing, but it doesn't need to be.]
Yes, I want you to put them on. But I want you to wear this, beneath them.
[He pulls something out of his pocket -- when did he pick it up? It must have been some smooth sleight of hand, when they passed a women's underwear display. It's black, sheer, trimmed with scalloped lace, and nothing at all like the rest of the casual-but-nice not out of place in a coffee shop or museum-gallery clothing Komaeda's holding.
The set of panties gets placed deftly and with finality on top of the cream shirt.
Before Atem goes on about his reasoning, he waits a beat: he wants to gauge the reaction, first. Will Komaeda like them, and get what Atem's going for, or will he protest?]
cw: its not truly nsfw but there is some masochism and D/s happening here if you squint
Again, Komaeda feels a bluish hue rise to his scales, dusting his shoulders and neck before reaching his cheeks. To be asked to wear a lacy garment under such modest clothing... it's somehow more embarrassing than wearing a full outfit of lingerie out in the open.]
You're kind of dirty, aren't you, Atem-kun? [Komaeda's voice is small as he shoves the pile of clothing from his arms into the other's. It's also a means to put some distance between them when he plucks the panties back up from the top of the pile.] I mean... to ask me to wear this under all those layers that cover me up, it's like you enjoy thinking about the secret of what's underneath.
[Komaeda holds the lacy scrap of cloth between them, turning it this way and that in his hand, as his brows furrow. He had said he was willing to wear women's underwear before, but to actually do it? This is his first time, ever.
Still, he won't back down and he won't break his promise.
He bends forward to balance himself as he lifts one leg after the other, feeding them through the holes of the flimsy panties. It takes him a moment, definitely longer than it would a person with two hands, to pull it all the way up over his bony hips—and a moment longer after that to fix any rolled up bits of it that might've occurred while putting it on.
And then he stands before Atem, wearing nothing but a pair of black lacy panties, and the flushed shame of a guy who's definitely enjoying this for all the worst reasons.]
H..How does it look...?
NOPE NSFW DIALOGUE/TEXT, D/s themes
Among other things.
Komaeda calls him dirty, and he shuts his eyes with a heh! That's cute, that something like this -- something very normal, comparatively -- has him so flustered. He's hesitating -- Nagito's never been asked to do this before? That's a shame, Atem thinks, as he holds the pile of clothes dutifully and follows the progress of the garment up Komaeda's legs with half-closed eyes.
Ah, he is enjoying it...he enjoys being embarrassed? That's interesting, but I'll have to be careful not to go too far...
That's about all the rational thought he gets out before everything else turns to static, and his voice stops taking commands from his rational brain for a moment. "How do I look," Komaeda says, as they're standing out against his scales, definitely not his style, definitely picked for him. Komaeda has the right idea, they're going to be a filthy secret, no one else gets to see these yet, no one they pass will know that Komaeda looks really nice in these--]
I want to take them off you with my mouth.
[...if Komaeda was expecting something intelligent, he shouldn't wear those so well.]
the text at this point is less overt nsfw and more just me feeling secondhand embarrassment
The silence is deafening, giving his heart ample room to make itself known with the way his pulse thunders inside of his skull. His flushed expression is very quickly darkening with every passing second Atem doesn't say anything, just stares at him. If he died of embarrassment right here, that might be okay. That might be better than the electric shiver that rolls through his limbs and forces him to flit his gaze around the dressing room as he waits with too much anticipation.
And then Atem answers, and it turns that shiver into a shock. Komaeda's scales feel sensitive to the air around him, as if he were underwater and he could sense every little change in current and pressure. It's all in his head, he knows, but those words out of Atem's mouth are just too much—too surreal. He never thought he'd hear something so... bold coming from this guy. This guy who, for the better part of their relationship, has been apparently holding himself back.]
I wouldn't mind if you did... [He replies just as sheepishly, on the back of an exhaled breath. His head feels dizzy, like the world around them ground to a halt and his equilibrium is still adjusting to it.] But if you do... I don't think we'll be leaving this dressing room, and didn't you want to go see other places, too?
[It's an out, he knows it—some semblance of sense to keep Atem at bay while he looks, quite literally, like he's ready to devour Komaeda. Not that he would mind if he did.]
just so everyones aware, they're still being embarrassing
I did.
[Komaeda is right there, in that underwear, which makes him much harder to look at without dirty thoughts than he was when he was naked, talking about how Atem could, if he wanted to, go over there and pull that lace right back off with his teeth.
He could. After nearly two years, he could. Why not? What's stopping him...?
....
....he doesn't want today to end in a fade-to-black in a dingy mall dressing room. That's literally it, the only thing that's stopping him. He can be patient, for a better payoff later...for more fun, overall, than acting like out of control teenagers sneaking around after school.]
...I do!
[Okay. Whew. Get it together. Atem hands the pile of clothes back to Komaeda, his jaw set.]
You can put on the rest of it, but I can't be in here with you while you're in just that, or we really won't leave!
[He'll be thinking about it later, though.]
they're so embarrassing thank god no one is around to see them
For a long moment, it looks as if there's some sort of internal battle happening, just by the shift in expressions across Atem's face.
And then there's relief, mixed with a flicker of disappointment, as Atem takes the bait of reason and backs off. Komaeda doesn't bring attention to the way his shoulders relax, instead leaning forward and taking the clothing pile out of Atem's hands.]
Right... so, it would be good if you left the dressing room now!
[Komaeda is practically pushing Atem out of the dressing room, and once the guy is outside of its confines, he leans down to whisper in his ear.]
Imagine a special place to take me, and I'll let you remove them with your teeth there.
[And, before Atem can respond, Komaeda is pulling himself back into the dressing room and closing the curtain between them. His pulse races in his ears anew with his own boldness, but he won't let his daring flirtation stop him from, very quickly, getting dressed.]
no subject
That was bolder than he expected! Atem has to take a second, outside the curtain, to master the renewed flush on his own face.]
Tease!
[--is barked through the flimsy divider, which might as well be three feet of concrete, as Atem drops into a slump on a chair a few feet back, his cow-ears angled forward in aggression frustrated.
He'll wait!! Even if it's going to be its own kind of fun, waiting for the end of the date to roll around, both knowing what's been promised, Atem needs to take a few deep breaths and cool off before he can get back into the spirit of a slower burn.
Maybe the underwear was a mistake... he thinks, his chin resting on a closed fist. Tease, Nagito is a tease, tease, tease.]
no subject
It's probably why, when Komaeda slings the curtain open once more, he's practically beaming. The outfit that Atem has chosen fits him well—the clothing is baggy enough that is completely swallows his gangly form, without looking like he's completely swimming in fabric. The colors, too, compliment his scales rather well as he steps out from the dressing room.]
How does it look?
[He says it again, but this time, he's far less flushed when he does. He's got the skirt pinched by his one hand, swishing it back and forth.]
You know... I never tried this before, but this style is much more practical with my tail. Understandably, you have a great eye for these sorts of things, Atem-kun!
[Komaeda smiles as he pads his way over to his frustrated companion.]
no subject
That's exactly the effect he was looking for, he notes, with despair. Yep. Look at him. Adorable. The colors are perfect, making the blue of his scales seem bluer, and deepening the yellow ones closer to gold. The scale pattern you can see under the sheer of the shirt...]
Anyone would be lucky to take you to the sock hop.
[His head drops back down, behind his shoulders.]
Ah, that really suits you...you look good!
[And he can't do anything about it until later!! There's even scandalous underthings!]
It's gonna kill me.
[Of sexual frustration? Of this guy, adorably thrilled with how the skirt falls around his feet and tail, putting a knife between his shoulders? Who knows?]
no subject
In a weird way, too, it's sort of endearing. Neither of them have had those sorts of normal teenage experiences, have they? He'd let Atem take him to a dance.]
You can't die, yet.
[He states, far too cheery, as he drops down onto his haunches beside Atem, coming eye level to that near-pouting face.]
We've made promises that we have to keep to each other... right?
[It's his way of saying—stop moping, it's time to go—in likely the most subtle, nagging way possible.]
And now that I've covered my body from your heated gaze... You're free to whisk me away to our next destination!
