DOCTOR JOHANN GEORGE FAUST VIII

Rick has no idea of what to make of Faust half the time and he has encountered some very strange people in his time. He's clearly an altruist and he's unbelievably earnest, but then he'll throw out something like "I KNOW THE BONES" or "I HAVE LITERALLY RAISED HELL" and... what are you supposed to make of that? At this point, he's pretty sure Faust would never be anything but entirely earnest, so he just kind of taking it all at face value. Faust knows the bones. Sure.

Ultimately, Faust is just a good person and Rick has a really hard time wrapping his mind around that because he's a cynical asshole. That being said, Rick does keep actively seeking him out and is always really glad to see him. I think he likes him in part because he's so baffled by him and because he kind of throws him off his game a little.

I really love their dynamic and I think they're interesting foils because they're both a little dark and a little unstable, but they're polar opposites in so many ways. You had me at "Let me diagnose your pendulous balls."
