TEST DRIVE MEME
TEST DRIVE MEME | ||
Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:
Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town. |

[He doesn't tighten his grip, but his voice definitely gets a bit louder.] You're alive here, so don't fuck it up by wandering around aimlessly. Do you have friends or family you need to look for?
no subject
the others. if she'd died and then been brought here, there's nothing saying for sure that she's alone. that realization brings her a notch closer to something resembling lucid. ]
...yes, I do. But I wouldn't know where to start.
no subject
What do they look like?

[ mami forces that out before anything else. this boy is doing her a favor, truly; there is nothing obliging a stranger to act as a rock for another, but here he is. she shakes her head a bit, as if to clear it, then takes a moment to think. the image of all her comrades is fresh in her mind, it's just a matter of pulling out the words from her still-foggy head. her speech is improving, at least, though it still holds a certain stiffness. ]
They're all younger than me...four of them.
[ she steadies herself, then properly lists them. she uses her first names when they're not here to hear -- god, she misses them already. would it be cruel to hope they are here with her, if this isn't death? ]
Madoka. Pink hair, almost always in pigtails tied with ribbons.
Homura. Long black hair ... sometimes with braids, and red glasses. She has this -- look about her. I don't know how to tell you.
Sayaka. Short blue hair and eyes to match. You can just tell it's her by all the blue.
And then -- Kyoko. Long red hair and she's almost always eating.
[ there. she did it. she managed to hold it together long enough to provide vital information, though they're no the world's most detailed descriptions. she sucks in a breath. ]
If they're here, they're most likely together.

He gives her time anyway, letting go now she seems to be pulling the words out to explain and describe the people she knows. Age won't necessarily help, but the hair descriptions and even eyes might do something.
It's only when she gets to Kyoko that an expression crosses his face that's almost fond. It reminded him of someone he knows as well.]
Always eating... I know someone like that too.
[But it helps. That, and maybe if he talks to her more she'll feel a little calmer as well.] She got into a lot of trouble when we first met for eating when she shouldn't have been, then was told to run until she fell over, and that she'd have no dinner that night.
[Which sounds pretty rough, but that's the military for you...]
Let's go that way first. There's more people over there, and if they turn up they'll probably be at the hospital too first, right?
no subject
Mm, that'd make sense...unless they've already gone off on their own, too...an d knowing them, they might've.
[ either way, she takes a step in that direction, grateful for the company. having another living breathing speaking being around works pretty well to pull one reality-wards. ]

[It's not like his training squad had been to start though. Thinking back to the competitiveness of him and Jean and how they'd had so many arguments about Jean's lack of willpower to actually make a difference was one thing... but then there was also picking on Sasha, Annie wandering off on her own, Reiner and Bertolt kept to themselves too a bit--no one was hugely into teamwork.]
no subject
[ mami'd like to think she'd taught them teamwork well, at least. for all she knows, they could act much, much differently under these circumstances, but she can hope her teachings carried over. ]
They should be relatively easy to find, if they are here.
no subject
[At least that's what he saw while there. Some left way too early and some loitered too, but generally... it was pretty decently paced.]
It might be harder to find them elsewhere, but it shouldn't be impossible if there's a group of them.
[And at least if they're searching he can look for the people he knows too.]
no subject
...did you just get here, too? Is there someone you need to look for?
no subject
About an hour ago I think? I looked around a bit but haven't found anyone so far so it's fine.
no subject
[ her eyes widen a fraction. ]
You're...very composed for having such a small amount of time to acclimate.
no subject
I'm not okay with any of this, but I already looked as much as I could in this area. I might just have to wait for someone to find me instead.
no subject
[ she half-smiles, a little morose. ]
If there's a lot of us in this same situation, maybe there's some sort of ... not "missing persons" board, but...the like.
[ now that her clarity is more or less back, she's trying to be as helpful as she can rather than dead weight. ]
no subject
[That's going to lead them somewhere shady...]
I don't remember seeing anything like that, but I was looking for people not places.
no subject
Right. I have...no idea where we'd start looking for something like that, though.
no subject
[Though he's only 60% certain what direction that is.]
no subject
[ ...and if he doesn't, well, they can just wander? it's safer to be with someone else, she figures. ]
no subject
What will you do if you can't find them? [This question takes a few minutes for him to ask, knowing how she's probably still a little out of it. Coming back from death can't be easy -- he thinks of her friends and family if they're here too. What will they do?]
no subject
she shakes her head. ]
Likely the same thing I'd do if they were here, except only for myself. Find somewhere to stay, get the rest of everything sorted...look for them again, periodically. If they're not here now that doesn't negate future possibilities, right?
no subject
Or if there's any kind of help to find other people.
no subject
[ god, she's full of questions. she feels a little guilty for relentlessly asking this poor stranger all of them, one who's already been kind, but how else is she supposed to get her bearings? ]
no subject
[Which meant that unless he found someone that day he'd probably just sleep ... on the street...]
no subject
[ she shakes her head in response to that last bit. ]
I've got absolutely nothing.
[ which means she'll probably be doing the same! cool. ]
no subject
[He looks up towards the sky, then back at Mami with a faint smile.] We'll work something out. [And hey, even if he has to do an odd job to get at least her a night in an inn, he will do.]
