Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR: The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

He lets out a yelp of surprise when she dives down and grabs him up by his furry shoulders. Luckily, he doesn't have a fear of heights, but the sudden jolt of going from touching the ground to being airborne leaves him a little winded.]
Uh...thanks. But it wasn't necessary. I'm probably slowing you down, aren't I?
no subject
Steve?
[She has a few choice words for this occasion, but she has to twirl mid-air because she hasn't moved in the air enough and the mob is still aiming for her.]
no subject
But now, with her twisting in an angle that brings them face-to-face, Steve is able to recognize her. Despite all the changes that have been done to her, he would recognize the remaining human features of her face anywhere, especially when coupled with her voice which he still remembers so clearly. Even when she is old her voice doesn't change that much.]
Peg-whoa! [The first twirl takes him by surprise as they evade a couple more bullets.] These guys just don't know when to give up!
no subject
It's a little hard to worry about trivial stuff like that when they're getting shot at.] Hold on tight. I'm about to do something reckless.
[She draws her wings around him, going into a sudden steep dive right into traffic. Horns honk all around them as she pulls out her wings a moment before they crash, flying between lanes of cars before jerking around one and flying into an alley, flying around open vents before coming out on the other side somehow without crashing.]
no subject
It's not her looks that attracted him to her anyways.]
Good to know. [He's not sure what to expect so he does as she says and hangs on as tight and he can without digging his claws into her. His heart leaps when they dive down but otherwise he seems quite tranquil. He's fallen from worst heights.
When they exit the alley Steve sniffs the air, attempting to gauge if they are still being followed or not.]
Their scents are faint. I think we might have lost them in the traffic.
no subject
[She stretches her wings so she can catch the heat coming from vents, and she swoops upwards into the sky before settling on top of a building and slumping there.
She could let him go now, but she doesn't for a moment. Maybe if she just holds him, he won't go away again.
Eventually she lets go, though, sitting back and touching her neck, now dark and sticky with the blood from her ear. Her hair sticks to her head with the blood. It's not a big deal, so she drops her hand to her lap.] Were you hurt?
no subject
He lets go when she does almost hesitantly and takes a step back, getting his first good look at her.]
I should asking you that. You're the one bleeding.
[He takes a step closer hoping to inspect the wound.]
How bad is it? Do you need to have it looked at?
no subject
It's nothing. They shot my ear.
[Her healthy ear flares, but her hurt ear only flares partially, stuck together with blood. She tries to keep herself from flushing too much, since now that they're not being attacked, her self-consciousness is catching up to her.] It looks worse than it is. Give it a few weeks and the hole will close up again. [It wasn't like they hit her inner ear. That would have been a problem.]
no subject
If we were anywhere else that wouldn't be just nothing.
[He reaches out carefully to touch the injured ear and hold it still while he looks over the wound, careful to hold with the fleshy parts of his fingers and not his claws.]
We should at least get it cleaned up and covered.
no subject
She reaches up and takes the hand touching her ear, holding it tightly.] We can do that in a bit.
[Right now, she just wants to talk with him, be with him. He always seems to slip through her fingers just when she thinks she might be able to keep him.]
no subject
Alright. [He takes a deep steadying breath.] It's really good to see you Peg.
no subject
Either way, she can't stand to let go of his hand. She can't stand to pretend like it doesn't feel like her heart might burst.
She struggles to swallow past the lump in her throat, trying to reign in all the feelings filling up her chest right now.] What's the last thing you remember before coming here?
[What time is he from? Does he remember being here before? She can't imagine he does, since he would have come to see her if he had known she was here.]
no subject
But this time it was really Peggy, his Peggy. Not the one who had lived a whole life without him.]
The last thing I remember is...Natasha and I were training our new team of Avengers. [He pauses, realizing there is no way she would understand what he's talking about.] It's a long story.
no subject
She doesn't know anything about a new Avengers team, but that could either be because her knowledge is limited or he's just from further along than the others. Either way, it means that he's from a different time from her now, and he's had time to grow and change and move on with his life. She's not sure if he wants to be with her anymore, since she's his ancient past.] They're in good hands.
[It feels like she should say something. Something a little more meaningful than asking about when he's from. She should tell him that she misses him and she loves him and she doesn't want to let time get away from them again--but the words are stuck, unarticulated in her throat.]
no subject
Has he mentioned how he hates all time-travel related things?]
I'm almost afraid to ask how you know. [Especially if it turns out he had told her. Just thinking that he could have possibly shared moments with her that he doesn't remember is enough to make his chest tighten.]
no subject
You told me about a little about it. Then when you disappeared, Tony and Natasha told me a little more.
[She's tempted to hold back on all the things she's learned, to spare him, but it isn't fair to him. She owes him honesty.]
I learned a little more from reading files on the Winter Soldier. Bucky's here, too. He's better than he was. I can sometimes make him laugh. [She's nervous to tell Steve that she's been living alone with his best friend for months. She and Bucky both know that it's a platonic arrangement, and the people of the future don't care, but Steve is from their time and grew up with its sensibilities. She doesn't like the thought of Steve thinking she'd been sleeping with his best friend while he's so vulnerable. But still--she wants Steve to know that Bucky's being taken care of, and he's coming more into his own every day.]
no subject
He hates this feeling of not knowing. He wants to ask her about everything. Everything he had said or did the last time he was here. But what good would that do? It's likely that he will remember.]
Tony and Natasha...are they still here?
[He winces when she mentions the Winter Soldier, the guilt of what had been done to Bucky still stings him. He's about to ask her how she got access to those files when what she says next stops him.
Bucky is here.]
Does he remember you? Or me?
no subject
They are. Tony is remarkably like his father and Natasha is pleasant company. Also, they're a gargoyle and a giant spider, respectively.
[Bucky is Steve's best friend. She might as well tell him everything--save what Bucky has told her in confidence. That, Bucky can tell Steve on his own.] He doesn't remember much before your... incident in the future. He doesn't remember much about our time together, either, but I think you had told him about me so he already knew I was a friend when I came here. You and I moved in with him when we got here at first, and I stayed with him after you disappeared. He's doing fantastically well, all things considered, but... I didn't think it'd be best for him to live alone.
[She hopes Steve understands that there's nothing untoward going on. And if she's really being honest, she doesn't really want to live alone either. She thought it was hard in New York without any family or friends. In Ryslig, most people are scared of her, and nearly everyone is from a time long after her own. The only familiar face she has doesn't even remember her, but Bucky's all she really has. Well, until now.]
no subject
He could hear a hint of hesitancy in her voice but he's not sure why. Is she worried about upsetting him by telling him about things he doesn't remember? It's true that it hurts to hear about, but none of that is her fault.
In fact, he's relieved to hear that she and Bucky are living together. He's glad that they have had each other to rely on in his absence.]
I'm glad to hear it. I'm sure having you around has helped him. Even if he doesn't remember much. It must have been a shock to you seeing him again and finding out what happened.
no subject
She has an internal sigh of relief when he doesn't object, doesn't even raise a question about her living alone with Bucky. Then her stomach clenches at the thought of what had happened to Bucky, and of all the guilt that has been plaguing her since she found out. She should have looked for the body she should have looked at Zola more closely she should have been more careful about Hydra she should have noticed that Nazis were thriving in the spy organization she's supposed to found in the future she should have she should have]
It was quite a shock, but he's still as good a man as I remember. Speaking of shocks, he can also turn into a polar bear now. I daresay he has a sweeter disposition than most actual bears. He mostly lies on the living room floor or scavenges for berries when he's in that form. [He is, in fact, unfairly adorable when he is a bear. Peggy always ends up petting him like he's a dog, which is highly inappropriate but he likes it and it's hard to resist touching something that fluffy.]
no subject
A polar bear, huh? [He's well aware of the gods and their humor.] Sounds very homey. Just don't mistake him for a rug. [He cracks a smile.]
no subject
He would make a very handsome rug, but no, I usually just use him as an arm chair so he can make himself useful. Easily the most comfortable chair I've ever had. [His limbs are the arms, his side is the back, and the floor is the chair. He is her fluffy arm chair and she is his scaly space heater. It's an arrangement that works.]
Even if he were just a glorified rug, I could hardly complain. Sometimes I get a new rug on the floor and sometimes he gets a new statue by the window. Compromises have to be made when you share a flat.
no subject
It sounds like you guys have a good system going. [He heard somewhere about how Gargoyles turn to stone in the sunlight so he understands the reference.] I hope that doesn't happen to you too often. The statue thing. It's just asking for trouble. [Like how one accidental bump could have her cracking into millions of tiny pieces. Which is actually pretty terrifying.]
no subject
As for the stone thing... she gives a half shrug and tries to smile. As Steve might notice, she's much more pale than she used to be. The lack of sun is getting to her, and no one has really explained the importance of vitamin D and sunlamps to her. It's gradually getting harder to keep her spirits up the longer she goes without ever feeling the sun on her face.] Doesn't happen all that often. The first time it happened, Natasha discovered me in a park. She called Tony and Bucky to help and they put a tarp over me. I woke up in a panic and nearly set them all on fire. I've been doing my best to avoid a repeat incident.
no subject
Yeah, let's not barbecue any of our friends. You'll never hear the end of it from Tony for one thing. [His teammates still bring up the time he told Tony to watch his language on occasion.]
So, aside the statue business, how have you been? How long have you been stuck here? [From what he's heard Peggy must have been here for several months at least if not longer.]
