Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR: The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

He hates this feeling of not knowing. He wants to ask her about everything. Everything he had said or did the last time he was here. But what good would that do? It's likely that he will remember.]
Tony and Natasha...are they still here?
[He winces when she mentions the Winter Soldier, the guilt of what had been done to Bucky still stings him. He's about to ask her how she got access to those files when what she says next stops him.
Bucky is here.]
Does he remember you? Or me?
no subject
They are. Tony is remarkably like his father and Natasha is pleasant company. Also, they're a gargoyle and a giant spider, respectively.
[Bucky is Steve's best friend. She might as well tell him everything--save what Bucky has told her in confidence. That, Bucky can tell Steve on his own.] He doesn't remember much before your... incident in the future. He doesn't remember much about our time together, either, but I think you had told him about me so he already knew I was a friend when I came here. You and I moved in with him when we got here at first, and I stayed with him after you disappeared. He's doing fantastically well, all things considered, but... I didn't think it'd be best for him to live alone.
[She hopes Steve understands that there's nothing untoward going on. And if she's really being honest, she doesn't really want to live alone either. She thought it was hard in New York without any family or friends. In Ryslig, most people are scared of her, and nearly everyone is from a time long after her own. The only familiar face she has doesn't even remember her, but Bucky's all she really has. Well, until now.]
no subject
He could hear a hint of hesitancy in her voice but he's not sure why. Is she worried about upsetting him by telling him about things he doesn't remember? It's true that it hurts to hear about, but none of that is her fault.
In fact, he's relieved to hear that she and Bucky are living together. He's glad that they have had each other to rely on in his absence.]
I'm glad to hear it. I'm sure having you around has helped him. Even if he doesn't remember much. It must have been a shock to you seeing him again and finding out what happened.
no subject
She has an internal sigh of relief when he doesn't object, doesn't even raise a question about her living alone with Bucky. Then her stomach clenches at the thought of what had happened to Bucky, and of all the guilt that has been plaguing her since she found out. She should have looked for the body she should have looked at Zola more closely she should have been more careful about Hydra she should have noticed that Nazis were thriving in the spy organization she's supposed to found in the future she should have she should have]
It was quite a shock, but he's still as good a man as I remember. Speaking of shocks, he can also turn into a polar bear now. I daresay he has a sweeter disposition than most actual bears. He mostly lies on the living room floor or scavenges for berries when he's in that form. [He is, in fact, unfairly adorable when he is a bear. Peggy always ends up petting him like he's a dog, which is highly inappropriate but he likes it and it's hard to resist touching something that fluffy.]
no subject
A polar bear, huh? [He's well aware of the gods and their humor.] Sounds very homey. Just don't mistake him for a rug. [He cracks a smile.]
no subject
He would make a very handsome rug, but no, I usually just use him as an arm chair so he can make himself useful. Easily the most comfortable chair I've ever had. [His limbs are the arms, his side is the back, and the floor is the chair. He is her fluffy arm chair and she is his scaly space heater. It's an arrangement that works.]
Even if he were just a glorified rug, I could hardly complain. Sometimes I get a new rug on the floor and sometimes he gets a new statue by the window. Compromises have to be made when you share a flat.
no subject
It sounds like you guys have a good system going. [He heard somewhere about how Gargoyles turn to stone in the sunlight so he understands the reference.] I hope that doesn't happen to you too often. The statue thing. It's just asking for trouble. [Like how one accidental bump could have her cracking into millions of tiny pieces. Which is actually pretty terrifying.]
no subject
As for the stone thing... she gives a half shrug and tries to smile. As Steve might notice, she's much more pale than she used to be. The lack of sun is getting to her, and no one has really explained the importance of vitamin D and sunlamps to her. It's gradually getting harder to keep her spirits up the longer she goes without ever feeling the sun on her face.] Doesn't happen all that often. The first time it happened, Natasha discovered me in a park. She called Tony and Bucky to help and they put a tarp over me. I woke up in a panic and nearly set them all on fire. I've been doing my best to avoid a repeat incident.
no subject
Yeah, let's not barbecue any of our friends. You'll never hear the end of it from Tony for one thing. [His teammates still bring up the time he told Tony to watch his language on occasion.]
So, aside the statue business, how have you been? How long have you been stuck here? [From what he's heard Peggy must have been here for several months at least if not longer.]
no subject
I think he'd be the only one to come out unscathed, though I'd never hear the end of ruining his clothes. The two of us are completely resistant to fire now.
[How has she been? Besides being kidnapped, hunted, shot at, brainwashed?] I've been here since late November. It's been... a challenge, but I'm adapting. It's easier if I try to focus on the bright side. [Her wings unfold, showing off their rainbow scales and shimmering in the city lights.] I'm not sure I'd mind terribly if I just kept these.
no subject
One less tool they can use against you. ['They' being the hunters.]
[Okay so thinking about his own adventures since arriving; being hunted, glared at, denied service, among other things, perhaps that was a stupid question to ask.] Um...yeah. That's probably the best thing any of us can do all things considered.
[His eyes track the movement of her wings with a little bit of envy.] They're sure useful, that's for sure.
no subject
She smiles at him, allowing her wings to droop down again before wrapping them around herself, clasping their 'hands' over her collar like she's wearing a leathery cloak.]
I could take you flying again, if you like. Maybe somewhere where there's a better view.
[Maybe she should address the elephant in the room. Do you want to try us again? She's not sure if she should, though.]
no subject
But now...]
I would love that. Where do you have in mind?
no subject
There's a lovely lake on the edge of the city. It's dark enough that you can see stars.
[One hand goes to her neck, sticky with coagulating blood.] My office is also conveniently on the way. I have a small medical kit there.
no subject
Sounds good to me. We should get going then. There's only a few hours of night left.
no subject
Then hold on tight.
[She spreads her wings open and tips them over they edge of the roof. The wind rushes them, catching Peggy and pulling them upwards before they're soaring over the city.]
no subject
The wind whips around them, nearly knocking the breath out of Steve. Once they straighten out he cranes his head to look down on the city below them. He's never seen the city from an aerial view before and it's more beautiful than he had expected.]
Almost makes you wish you could stay up here forever.
no subject
She looks past him at the view below. It really is beautiful in an industrial way. It's a little more comforting than the woods, which stretch on and on forever below her and it's easy to see how alone she is.] I've heard of people gaining wings of their own from a particular native here after much time. You may be able to fly on your own eventually.
no subject
Anyone can? You mean I could be the first flying werewolf? [There's a vision. He chokes back a laugh.] What native has that kind of power? I'm guessing they're not human.
no subject
[Peggy smiles at the thought of a wolf with wings. It would probably look a little silly, but at least it would be functional.] It used to be a horse man named Tikbalang, although he died recently and now a woman named Mana has taken his place. She's human as far as I can tell, but she has access to incredible power, it seems.
no subject
I'm surprise the gods allow people other than themselves to wield that kind of power. Exactly how long do you have to stay here before you can be granted wings?
no subject
The so-called gods aren't omnipotent. And I haven't the slightest; we pay Mana with these particular coins. We're not sure how we earn them and there's little predicting how much or little we get.
[She swoops downward, stopping to crouch on a windowsill. While balancing with Steve, she reaches out one wing and hooks its 'hand' on the window, pulling it open to reveal a small, neatly kept office space. This is where she meets with clients who want her as a detective.] Here we are.
no subject
[That sure makes attempting to collect coins in order to trade them in for something that much more difficult. Those wings will probably have to wait awhile. A very long while.
Steve climbs through the window and then holds out a hand to Peggy. Once they're both inside he gives the office a glance over.]
Nice office. You get a lot of business here?
no subject
[She steps into the office and shakes herself to stretch and refold her wings, her horns almost catching on the window.] Oh, plenty. Usually people who want to see if their significant other is dallying behind their back, but business is business. [She misses being a federal agent, but Ryslig doesn't have a centralized government and local police forces would never be able to effectively integrate a monster into the force.
She walks to her desk, pulling a med kit out of the drawer and then sitting on top of it as she opens the kit. Her injured ear twitches, unable to flare completely due to the way the blood has stuck the folds together but still alert.] The number of times people have tried to hire me to knock someone around, I swear...
no subject
As she opens the first aid kit up Steve walks over to her desk and stands besides her.]
Here, let me. I can see the wound.
