TEST DRIVE, MARCH ROUND

TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:

  • Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look.
  • You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
  • The reserve date has been announced.
  • Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
  • NEW! Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 3 coins by replying to potential character threads! You will need to have your normal 20 comment AC in the game. You cannot use this to go over the bonus 10 coins per month total, but you can use it if you are missing some threads to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.

Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others.

SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together.

SCENARIO THREE: You've heard about the fog, but you've never seen it before. Now, the mist surrounds you. Barely able to see before you, you need to get home - and fast. It's far too dangerous in this situation.

SCENARIO FOUR: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[Serph didn't say anything about Heat's stumbling -- does he look like the kind of guy to say things? Exactly -- but there was the tiniest of upward twitches of the corners of his lips at Heat's glare.

In response to Heat's unasked question, Serph shook his head; the creature was hard to make out from this distance.

Once Serph was in position -- a location that would most likely put him in the direct path of the creature once it was scared out, due to the gap in the bush's thick underbrush pointing in this direction -- he waited for Heat's lead in a crouch, legs coiled beneath him, ready to spring at any moment.

But... when the bush was set aflame in a flare of light, Serph wasn't expecting his vision to be so sensitive that bright spots would painfully lance through his vision, momentarily blinding him.

When the creature, long eared and long legged, darted out of the bush in terror, having only sound to navigate by and none of the extra sensory perception his Atma had afforded him, Serph leaped... and barely missed his intended target. At the sudden appearance of another threat, the rabbit swerved and tore off in the opposite direction of Serph out of fear... not realising it was running towards Heat.]

Damn it Serph! [He tries to lunge, but his balance is still too far off for that to actually work, and he misses by a mile.]

[...What does miss is that on instinct her twisted and breathed fire on it. A much more powerful Fire Breath, rather than a typical Agi. Hope you like your meat well done, Serph.]

[He turns to look at Serph, not quite getting up yet.]
You sure we can't just go grab someone that's dumb enough to still be out? People are easier to hunt and are a damned lot more satisfying.

[Despite his exhaustion, Serph is back on his feet in an instant, ready to chase down the creature. Thankfully it turns out to be completely unnecessary -- the creature lets out a shrill shriek when it's enveloped in flame -- so Serph takes his sweet time to walk over to Heat.]

Later.

[Aside from the fact he's hungry now -- not that Heat needs to know that -- in their state of post-transformation exhaustion and Heat's... remarkable lack of control over his own body, hunting even an untrained human would be unnecessarily risky right; an improvised weapon can still injure them, after all.

Plucking the very much dead rabbit from the ground by its ears, Serph plops himself onto the ground next to Heat and, digging his claws deep into the animal's flesh, tears it in half -- the cooked meat somehow doesn't seem as appealing than if it had been raw -- before offering one half to Heat. Devouring had helped them recover in the past, and even if this is much, much smaller than a human, they can both do with a pick-me-up.]

[Heat eyes him and the offered food fora brief moment, internally wondering if Serph should really be sharing if he was that hungry already. But... he just couldn't say no to free meat.]

Thanks.

[He takes the offered half of rabbit and tears into it with Heat's typical enthusiasm. ...Only to nearly choke a bit. Apparently he could no longer crunch and eat the bones like Agni could.
