Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:
Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look.
You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
NEW! Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 3 coins by replying to potential character threads! You will need to have your normal 20 comment AC in the game. You cannot use this to go over the bonus 10 coins per month total, but you can use it if you are missing some threads to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together.
SCENARIO THREE: You've heard about the fog, but you've never seen it before. Now, the mist surrounds you. Barely able to see before you, you need to get home - and fast. It's far too dangerous in this situation.
SCENARIO FOUR: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
[Robb watches her while bringing her bag to his other hand. The rapid pounding of his heart inside his chest at least answers the question if he is still alive or not. Yet, to feel alive is an entirely different thing. He thinks it does not matter, he might as well be dead.]
Of course. [He nods deeply, trying to think of whatever allies might be left. He brought a lot of highborn men to the wedding, he figures the Freys would not let them go like that. Alive even.] Let us drop the matter. [For now, because it is definitely something he cannot let go.] Tell me of King’s Landing and how you have made your way back to where you are now. You do live in the North, I take?
[The smile on his lips is a polite one but that is also all there is.]
It was not an easy journey, [She keeps her head ducked as some of the trees are starting to disperse. At least it isn't so dense now, and far more manageable to navigate, though she hasn't had too much trouble.]
Lord Baelish had me sent North. [Jeyne doesn't want to talk about King's Landing-- not to Robb Stark, a king. It only made her feel more shameful. The city was awful, the men as well. She had lost everything she had known, trained in a whorehouse.]
Have you travelled the Kingsroad towards Winterfell? [His eyes narrow a little while asking that, because in these times that would be the worst idea ever.] If so, I can imagine why your journey has not been an easy one.
[Robb knows the name but is unable to put a face with it. Probably another Lannister bannerman and anything Lannister leaves a foul taste in his mouth.]
An exchange of hostages? [One he does not know of, apparently.] Were my sisters part of that?
[If he wished to learn more on Littlefinger, she would tell him. Lord Baelish is no friend to a Stark, but since it is not brought up, she moves on as they walk.]
It was not an easy travel, not while the most of the land is in ruins. We traveled under lion banners though. Mayhaps that kept me safe. At Borrowton Lady Dustin had me travel with her. I wasn't good company then though.
[Not with how much she cried, and how much Barbary Dustin worried that the Northmen would rebel on that fact alone, Ned Stark's daughter crying.]
[Lion banners. Robb pulls a face at that. All he can conclude from her words is that the North bent the knee to the Iron Throne again. And he can’t do nothing, he is nothing. Not a king, not alive. All he remembers are sounds. His mother screaming, the Greatjon’s voice, Lord Frey laughing and...Lord Bolton. And Grey Wind...]
For Lannister men to be safe in the North... [Some sort of joyless laugh escapes his mouth.] Seven hells... [And he can’t do anything.] I have made a mess of it. All of it. [He is not looking at Jeyne when he says that, his eyes are focused on a non existent point in the distance.] I am sure men jape about me all over the realm. [Robb wishes he could feel sad and cry but it is not even that, he just feels quite...empty. Without purpose, without life, without family.]
*U* I tagged them!
