Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:
Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look.
You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
NEW! Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 3 coins by replying to potential character threads! You will need to have your normal 20 comment AC in the game. You cannot use this to go over the bonus 10 coins per month total, but you can use it if you are missing some threads to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together.
SCENARIO THREE: You've heard about the fog, but you've never seen it before. Now, the mist surrounds you. Barely able to see before you, you need to get home - and fast. It's far too dangerous in this situation.
SCENARIO FOUR: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
[What a sudden change in personality...he makes a mental note of that. But what he says next surprises him and for a second, he nearly looses his balance in mid-air, just as another of Sho's teeth flies by.]
[Maybe he's from his future? This guy seems to have even more issues than Adachi-san...but he's not about to let him threaten him off that easily. He won't fight unless he has too, but the tails behind him are already clicking back and forth. You may have more wings, stranger, but Yu's mastered the sky a few months ago. He swiftly moves to the left, changing his flight pattern, even as his ears lower in a threatening display.]
But whoever you are, don't make me angry.
[The low growl from his mouth makes his entire body shake. that's not a cat. It's a lion.]
[What is going on anymore, who is this person, when did he get a psychopath opponent...could it have something to do with whoever is behind the attacks in the tournament? But not much time to think. Sho's movements may be clumsy, but he's got ferocity and a strike to kill that comes with it.
Yu, on the other hand, wants to incapacitate him, not harm him. Which is why he quickly turns around, attempting to strike him with his paralyzing tail (and not the poison one). The tiny quills shoot out from it as he attempts to numb parts of him, aiming for the wings and hands and with luck maybe the mouth while he's at it.]
[If they had been fighting as humans he would have dodged most of that. But in the sky and with his new body he has no chance. The barbs sink into his body, his wings spasming.]
What the hell?!
[He beats his wings as hard as he can, but it's no good, and he drops like a brick, his voice trailing off as he plummets to a rooftop]
[Thankfully, Yu manages to grab him by the elbows, his lower feet paws just as agile as his hand ones, and he flaps enough to at least be able to give him a landing that doesn't end with the other falling headfirst in a complete mess of wings. At least that's what he hopes.
When they do manage to land, he positions himself right next to him. No doubt about it, if he knows his names, they knew each other somewhere.]
You won't be able to use your wings for a while until the paralyzing agent runs in your veins. Can you tell me who you are?
[Even being carried down to a softer landing, Sho is far from graceful on the rooftop. His main wings are limp, as are his arms and one legs, making him flop about on his chest, snarling]
Minazuki... Sho! You... you really don't know me?
[He almost looks... hurt? An expression that looks uncomfortable on his face, and confuses him. Which causes him to default to rage, and he tries to snap at his foes' ankles]
Well, Adachi-san did give me some information...he told me about Hinokagutsuchi being the entity behind everything and how we fought it together...but apart from that...
[But Adachi hadn't talked about Sho. Rather insulting isn't it?]
You were working with him? Did you taught us through Labrys' body?
[Suddenly a lot less amused. But he does catch on quickly.]

That little fucker!! He's just pissed I kicked the shit outta him! I was gonna show him the end of the world, but he had to go help you twits because of your stupid fricken bonds!
[He trashes about more, obviously very butthurt by this knowledge. SO much so that he doesn't even consider shutting his mouth]
And yeah, I used that busted ass toaster to talk to you. You idiots woulda been clueless otherwise, and what's the fun in that?
[His expression darkens, the manic edge gone in an instant to be replaced with... not sadness, exactly. Not loss. But something close. Again like someone who didn't understand such feelings at all, but who's heart keep trying to express them regardless. Like a broken toy.]
Don't even start with the... whole bonds bull. Yeah I get it, your little herd is here and is more then willing to put me down. Whatever, I don't wanna hear it.
[He's changing outlook more often than Eikichi which is amazing in itself. And now all Yu can feel is pity. It's like...he can't quite express himself correctly. How broken is this guy? What did he loose? But why did he want to fight him so much? Had he promised him a fight later? Is violence what he understood the most?]
