It's that time of year again! Where the monsters have presents for other monsters, but the players are just a wee bit too busy with their own December Madness to have time for all of that. And so, a solution appears! The Gifting Meme!

How does it work? Simple!

• FIRST, make a comment for your character- it can be an empty header, or you can use it to make note of a general present for a whole bunch of people- like christmas cards!
• SECOND, comment to other headers with what your character is giving to fellow monsters! Maybe your guy's giving someone a nice warm fuzzy blanket...Or a set of bath bombs! Ooooo!
• THIRD, wait for other comments to come rolling into your own header! Everyone loves a giftmas surprise!

Chances are You got something! Unless otherwise stated, Reira's giving presents to even the most minor of CR that she's exchanged names with!

The gifts are little candy pouches, with either chocolates, or honey candy, gummies...so on so forth. She's very careful to make sure everything is safe for the recipient to eat, so don't worry about missing out!

Each little bag also comes with a lucky charm she made of string! Use it as an ornament! ...Or maybe just some kind of keychain.

The present though, varies monster to monster- most will be receiving a mug of some kind with various sweets and hot chocolate mixes within. Those who can't have such delights- or even drink for that matter- get something else. The non-chocolate sorts just get different candies, or even hot cider mixes. The 'no drinks ever' gang however receive one of those neat novelty mugs that look like they're emptying when you tilt 'm. Don't feel left out...

As usual, if you met Jonathan and got around to exchanging names, that means it's time for a present- this year he's really into weird woodsy crafts, like painted pinecones and whatnot.

To that end, you'll be getting a wonderfully prose filled holiday card with some odd images, and a wood bristle animal to go with it.

(I'm not as active as I could be so feel free to assume that she got your character something if you'd like.)

Basically small things mostly, usually handmade. Shell necklaces, polished stone trinkets... pressed flower charms or bookmarks that probably fit your character somehow... that sort of thing.

Yuuna is a giver after all.

Go egg Javert's house (caveat: his house is in Dyster, though his thralls live in 38-8).

He has loose plans for the holidays, and received a personal invitation from Hawkeye to attend a Christmas Nattensfest dinner at his home. He hasn't let on, but he's actually quite nervous about going, and will end up overthinking every element of his attendance, from the gift selection to his choice of stockings.

All contracted Monster employees with Javert will receive the holiday off alongside a Nattensfest yearly bonus, a stock small gift box from Lup's bakery (your choice of treat), and a gift card to Makima's LIGHTS, CAMERA, COFFEE! cinema and café.

There are a few other people on his list, which I will hit individually.

Local ninja is sort of unhinged.

All his friends will get some thick blankets, quilted together with cute, local patterns and fabrics. If he's given you blankets before, you may get a crocheted stuffed animal of you instead!

Most people Tsukikage knows will a very strong, spider-silk samue shirts for all your daily needs. They are light and breezy and have the added bonus of being able to fit all sizes.

If he knows your character is into martial weapons, he will also give you a sword. He has made a concerning number of new swords.

Niina isn't really much of a gift giver but if you want to say you volunteered or helped Saint Flora's, you'll get something. If you know Niina? She'll get you something even if it's anonymous. A gift card, a small book, some monster edible food... that sort of thing.

She'll get some more personal and expensive gifts to CR, though.

Wow gosh I’ve been (almost) a ghost the past few months forgive me. A-anyway! This is Kirby’s very first Christmas and while he doesn’t totally get it, he’s certainly got the spirit. Giving gifts to friends is lots of fun!

If you’ve met him and he knows where to find you, you’ll probably get a gift! He’s just a little kid though so it’s probably something simple he made himself (like a drawing or an ornament from the community center craft session) or some food he thought you’d like. If you’d like to know specifics, hit me up here and I’ll give you all the deets! 👀👌

And of course, feel free to use this to tell me what your character might've gotten Kirby, too!


Edit: oh yeah and if he knows you but doesn't know where to find you, we can definitely, like, handwave him asking around until he finds out where you live/hang out or recruiting someone else to deliver it!

If Foo is familiar with you at all, she at least got you some candy! If you have positive CR, she may have sprung for an ugly Christmas sweater too. But I have a few specific gifts drafted as well!

- Maya: a beautiful brush/comb/handmirror set, and this sweater.
- Nanami: a whole bucket full of assorted colorful barrettes from the Mall with the note that since they're plastic they'll probably be ok for slimes to decorate themselves with (and that also Nanami likes to be other monsters a lot anyway), and this sweater.
- Pure Vanilla Cookie: a set of vanilla-scented tea light candles, and this sweater.

- SECRET SANTA! Neku: he gets two nice quality sketchpads and this sweater, all carefully wrapped in the gaudiest wrapping paper she could find.

Holidays like this are a chore and a menace, but positive connections must be maintained at all costs. In terms of generic gifts, Diavolo will be granting those he knows some homemade sweets from a half-remembered (best-forgotten) family recipe. If you've had any interaction with him at all, you are welcome to some, but be aware that the less delectable (and more overcooked) snacks go to those he admires least. If you are ungrateful, you will incur his wrath.

Additionally, those he particularly likes may get some shiny trinkets - jewelry and the like. They were absolutely looted from corpses and deemed unworthy to be worn by him (or perhaps the size just isn't right.) The highest caliber of CR will receive more expensive, personalized gifts but I, Fuzz, am not great at coming up with ideas. We can brainstorm if you like!

He'll distribute some of the baked treats at the Fourth's arcade, and the entire time he will glower and loom as he tries to forge connections. Enjoy your Nattensfest. He is going to go home after this and collapse and be thankful he doesn't have to be social like this for another year.

RS isn't a very Christmas-y guy, so his list of intended-giftees is very short - but if somebody not on this list bothers to get him something, he will figure out something to gift in return! He's not. always aware of when people have become ""friends"" and has been getting caught off guard since his first Nattenfest here.

His current gift list is:
- Ryou: a very nice set of wood carving tools (unless he already gave Ryou that last year, I have no notes to reference,,) and of course a box of cream puffs
- Jojo (tagged on this meme)
- Noa (ditto)
- Nanami: some sort of board game from the Night Market (which does mean it might be lightly cursed, oops)
- Emmet: a book on the wide variety of mundane animals the locals keep as pets! it is technically a children's book, but as RS' included note will explain, the info still seems to be good and it covers a wider variety of animals than any of the adult-aimed books did
- Sonic: a big book of really annoying knock-knock jokes, and an invite to join the Monster World game as a player if he's interested
