Strickler School: Handwaved CR Meme!
For those who have their characters teaching at or attending Strickler School: Let's do a CR Meme! What does your character teach? Favorite class? Do you attend day school or night school? Going for extra credit, or just the basics?
As long as it's related to Strickler School, it's fair game!
A reminder for those interested: Here is where general info can be found about the school!

She attends night school out of necessity due to Waldgeist things. Her attendance is pretty good, but when events hit you can bet she is there like one or two days at most, cannot be bothered when the world's going to shit.
If there's some kind of history class, that's her favorite. Math she's not as enthused about, but physics and general sciences she likes. Generally she does enjoy school, or she wouldn't go, but it's mostly about finding a semblance of normalcy for her, and she's open about that.
When she does hang out at the school out of school hours, she can most often be found hanging around the quad, and sometimes any semblance of an AV room Will has cobbled together.
Also yes, she does drive there in her muscle car every night blasting Kate Bush lmao

Mr. Fidgets A Lot would be aware enough to not sit next to her during class since he randomly gets up/moves around, but when allowed he makes his way over to her desk to talk to her.

He takes random absences (doing Spider-Man things!) and never really shows up during fog weeks. He can't be bothered to be a good student when the whole world is determined to make him feel shitty for a stretch of time.
Outside of class time, if Miles is at school, he can be found either in the quad or arts block, drawing in his sketchbook, or in the gymnasium shooting hoops (or practicing volleyball???)

Leo's schedule has him bouncing between night and day classes some weeks, so I can guess the two see each other in passing more than once.

Since they attend different classes, they probably just brush by each other- but he's probably seen her loitering on the quad, particularly if it's late but before (night) school!

Peter probably offers Miles a ride to school on his lil vespa/scooter if Peter himself is already at A-Tower that day or on the way there in the morning. Congrats, Peter trying to help Miles be relatively consistent with a schedule.

Leo's best topics: English/reading, Debate (HE LOVES CHALLENGING PEOPLE), sports, and first aid.
Worst topics: Math/sciences and history.
Unsurprisingly, a teenager raised in a New York sewer doesn't have a great grasp on certain concepts or how to behave in a school setting. He's picked up things from going to the school on/off, but still has no idea why schools even exist outside of playing sports.
Leo has ADHD and is constantly out of his seat, fidgeting around the room, bouncing his leg, or tapping his pencil against the desk. He started carrying a little fidget-y toy with him to classes which has been keeping him in his seat more often.
Childermass & Moriarty
Childermass will be teaching evening classes in money management and budgeting, since he used to run a whole Regency London-era household. He will also offer tarot classes, but on a more informal basis if anyone expresses interest. He's a bit gruff at the outset and might come across as intimidating or uncaring, but he's actually a big softie under all those black layers. He doesn't mince words when correcting mistakes, but he's also very patient when helping correct them. (Think a toned-down version of a certain Alan Rickman character...)
Moriarty will be teaching piano during the daytime as his alter ego, Richard Brook. He will refer anyone wishing to learn another instrument to Kronid (

He may have also, unsuccessfully, attempted to get into the adult classes.

he usually takes the gymnasium with three to five other monster-fan human boys (joshua, malacai, luce, sometimes twins ethan and ezikiel) and start as early as 4 pm to host
as for class……………………
shoyo hinata sucks at school 😭
he goes to have that “normal” routine to fall back on, because sherlock told him to and because he enjoys seeing friends and interacting with people his age, but other than that— he has a lot of difficulty with the core curriculum. math and literature are by far his worst subjects. he sits there a lot……… lost………… breaking into cold sweats when he has to do exercises alone or answer questions, all of which he gets wrong most of the time.
surprisingly, the only class(es) he seems to do relatively well in by himself is anything that has to do with languages. he loves communicating, and that just flips a switch somewhere! he doesn’t ace it, but he manages a wild B+ at most which is amazing for a F/D- kid!!!!!

as for school itself, while max is not great at like. high school math herself, she IS really good at the basics. if she noticed shoyo struggling she'd ask if he needed help, or notes, or something, bc fugo's tutoring her.
and i think she really likes literature things so goes double for that!!! at the very least he will hear her in depth opinion about whatever is assigned

Despite this PhD and several undergraduate diplomas, he's actually very good at just explaining things on a very basic level so the average teenager can understand what he's talking about. (And work in some dumb jokes from time to time.) No advanced stuff unless someone specifically asks for it! Any student who spends their time in class daydreaming and/or doodling gets a pass on that, so long as their grades are good. That said, he will assign homework and check it, and encourage students to study a little harder if it seems like they aren't quite getting it.

She's awkward and doesn't really stick around to chat with the teachers, but she REALLY likes Otto's physics class. Math not so much but that is more because she is not great at high school math specifically.

I'm sorry, Leo struggles in Otto's class so hard its comically bad. He gets the basic math stuff correct every time, but doesn't grasp anything over that.
Good news, he does try his very best. His homework is layers of him getting it wrong, but trying.
Bad new, he absolutely fidgets all class and asks weird questions.

here sir, have a nerd. Peter doesn't actually attend the school, but he makes a point to pop in to make sure Otto is having a good day, bring him extra coffee/etc every once in awhile.

he’s got a straggler. poor boy cannot survive if you give him a formula to solve 😭 I’ve got takers for max and miles to help him out, but it’s neatly obvious that shoyo is one of, if not the, worst student he has 😔 math hard head empty

He also teaches Monster First Aid courses (both in day school and night school, and also adult classes) when he gets the chance, and has been known to sub in and out for Biology.
He runs a one-off Sex Education class once every few months, because, seriously, y'all need the Talk. Nobody has to come if they don't want to listen to a weird skeleton in his forties talk about the possibility of monster V.D.

But now she doesn't have to sleep even as her usual slime (thanks Elias), if she chooses not to, so she has more time to split between work and school! She'll be a taking a good variety of classes, but has also been known to stop paying attention partway through, either looking off to daydream or taking out a book to read, if she's extra uninterested. She doesn't usually mix well with other students, but Leo adopted her into the family, so she will sometimes be a quiet, hovering presence on interactions with him, and when Donnie drops by for visits, they do weird nerd flirting, probably.
She's pretty intelligent and clever, so she catches on (or catches up...) quickly, and would be surprised but not unwilling to help if someone came to her with questions. Not strictly a day or a night student, just a weird mish-mash depending on scheduling.
Lastly, now and again she will be accompanied by a quadrupedal snail creature that acts a lot like an excitable dog! Molly the Mollusk sticks close to Ray, particularly since it has horrible vision, but if it smells food around, it can be more easily drawn over, and if you don't mind someone watching like a murderous hawk, Ray might allow people to fulfill Molly's physical enrichment needs, since she herself is pretty slow.

Leo will probably also introduce Ray to everyone he talks to. and y'know go "this is my sister, Ray!"

ETA: Looks like the Universal Translator does make language classes pointless, so he'll be teaching Theatre and running a Spanish club!
He'll be doing that in the daytime, around his shifts at the 8/12 and any classes he might be taking during adult ed hours.

OH NO I JUST SAW THE EDIT……… well spanish club it is then!!
me 4 days late like 'i wanted to tag this right away :[ '
REIRA! Sure Is Attending, hooboy.
Reira, as the monstrosity of the schedule in that link shows, has a very interesting school life! This is because unlike most sun-weak monsters, she's actually crepuscular, meaning she tends to be most awake during the 'twilight' hours so to speak. It's a hold over from when she was a Waldgeist (who get blinded by sun but nothing else, and for that matter are based on typically crepuscular animals)...and ultimately, the take away from there is that she has a longish sleep midday, and a shorter sleep mid-evening.
People who have seen the schedules for the classes might see where that causes problems. Even if she wanted to attend Day or Night individually, all her classes happen when she's asleep one way or another!
SO SHE HAS MADE DO.
TLDR, But Reira basically adjusted her sleep schedule according to what classes she'd bother taking each day- technically speaking, if other classes were to be happening during the Night School classes she'd definitely be taking all of those, as it's a lot easier for her to adjust her evening sleep than it is her day sleep.
Day classes were trickier, but ultimately the long and short of it is that from Monday to Wednesday, she can be spotted for the 11AM classes (though she's able to attend the 10AMs potentially)- while on Friday, she only shows up for the 1PM class. Lunch isn't really a lunch-time for her, so she either heads home at that point, or tries socializing while everyone's eating, and people just kind of have to deal with that.
(Suffice to say, if the classes come right before SleepTime, Reira isn't hanging around the campus- which is to say, the only time she's ever really lingering to hang out with anyone after school is on Fridays, where she specifically takes her Day-Sleep early in order to make it to Theatre!)
IN CLASS THOUGH! She's...Pretty damn smart honestly. Reira's probably quickly becoming that kid everyone kinda squints at because it looks a lot like she's never really trying but somehow she's there throwing her hands up in class, getting solid marks. She is just, very happy to be here. School!! Wow! She wants to make friends! She wants to do group projects! She may, in fact, carry your project if you decide to just slack (don't be That Guy though). She's got extra pens to lend- she's got extra paper to lend- She is, over all, too damn prepared.
...
..And probably tired. Since her Day Classes are either pretty much right before she goes to bed or just after getting up, it's pretty easy for her to end up flat out exhausted depending on just what the heck's been going on as of late. Likewise, literally all the evening classes are about the last thing she does in the 'day' before it's nap time, so on a busy week it's not uncommon to find she just conks out at the desk. Might be for the best that she decided not to take Debate.
As a general note, Reira can only really manage this because she has the ability to teleport to a radio- she very specifically tucked one away somewhere on campus, and if anyone moves it they're getting chewed out. Part of her daily routine in fact is to get ready for the day, and teleport in to find out what classes are running at all, since so many of them might just...NOT HAPPEN! CHANCES ARE, she will pass this news on to others she knows, ESPECIALLY if she sees them attending semi-regularly. It does, after all, suck to go all the way there and then...y'know. Not have classes after all.
this got long whoops im sorry everyone i just have so many school and reira thoughts

Emporio doesn't attend!! ...Yet. YET. This is a blanket 'COME AT ME FOLKS' for people to convince Emporio to attend the Day School, as he is very much diurnal thank-you-very-much!
Emporio's main issue is, he associates school with Just Learning, and boy, he's learned a lot. He's good on the learning.
He has failed to grasp that wow, there is also a social aspect and point of normalcy that he literally never got to experience, and now he's passing up on it !!! Go to school bud!
