Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
(CW: imprisonment)
You wake up in a dark, windowless room. Your hands are tied behind your back, the cold concrete solid against your cheek where you lie on the floor.
As your eyes adjust to the lack of light, you can see your prison in more detail. It appears to be an unfinished basement, the walls made of the same featureless concrete as the ceiling and floor. There is a bucket in the corner, a locked metal door, a single cot with a ragged blanket, a few jagged pieces of metal tossed aside in the corner, and… is that another person?
That’s right. You’re not alone in this prison. Someone else has woken up here too, in just the same state - confused, lost, tied up.
You may as well get to know your new friend. Maybe you could even cook up an escape plan together? You might be here for a while, and, after all… there’s only one bed.
SCENARIO TWO
You've stumbled your way into a city, and you're promptly besieged by the overwhelming sights and sounds. Cars honk at you to get out of the street, and strangers try not to look in your direction for too long. They see your lost expression and your clothes- so different from their own- and pretend to busy themselves with something else. Rarely, a look of pity is cast your way.
But some people try to reach out. Enterprising citizens and those that hope to curry favor with the newcomers pass out new clothes and bundles of food, asking if you have a place to stay the night, wondering about the details of the world you came from. A hefty laptop may be handed to you, with words of a ‘network’ used for communication. Wonder what that’s about? Then there’s the very confusing pamphlet stuffed within: "What To Expect When You're Expecting (To Turn Into A Monster)”. They may direct you to an organisation known as the Lighthouse, their members most prominently found at the 38-8 apartments and the Lighthouse Church. Or perhaps, if you're injured, they'll refer you to the Crowe Clinic instead. Unfortunately, the directions you're given are so very complicated that you lose your way in the streets after two left turns, a right and a left at the soup kitchen.
Take care when asking for more help. There are the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
Now that you've found a moment of peace, you open up the mysterious device that's been handed to you. Perhaps you'll recognize it as some sort of laptop, albeit an old and clunky one. Or perhaps you'll be astounded by this curious feat of technology, which is unlike anything you've ever seen before. Regardless, the moment the lid is propped open to reveal the screen and the keyboard within, you gain your first glimpse of the network.
Perhaps you'll want to choose a username and write your very first message, posing the pressing question that's on your mind at this very moment. The lettered buttons click and clack awkwardly beneath your fingertips as you type.
However, you may instead want to respond to today's most popular message.
WELCOME TO RSDOS. PRESS F1 TO COMPOSE POST. *** TODAY’S TOP POST *** 018.07.154.55 <JUSTSOMEGUY> Happy Nattensfest everyone!!! If you could have any gift you wanted for Nattensfest, what would it be? It doesn't have to be a thing you can hold, it can be a magical spell or a cool new monster feature too. Or you can wish for world peace I guess... But there's way more imaginative gifts out there! Live your dreams! |
SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Does it fit you, or does it feel incongruous with your nature? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
Elfnein | Symphogear | OTA
[ Elfnein was slowly waking up, when did she even fall asleep in the first place? She was at her desk on the S.O.N.G base working on a new interface for her brain dive machine. There was even a pot of fresh coffee for her to drink, there shouldn't be a reason for falling asleep at her desk. ]
It's dark?
[ Her eyes were open now, but the light from her desk wasn't there, the room was completely dark and cold. Panic was setting in, think think think, did someone move her to her bedroom after they noticed her asleep? ]
Where am I now... this is too cold to be my room.
02. Scenario Two
[ The heavy laptop and a bundle of papers were shoved into Elfnein's arms along with some vague directions for different places to go. One passerby had given her a coat to wear on top of what she woke up in and wouldn't take no for an answer. With what little she had to go off of it was sorta safe to assume that most people were willing to at least offer vague help to people like her. ]
Lighthouse, I need to find that first I think?
[ Time to see if anyone else was in the same boat. ]
03. Scenario Three
User ID: 119
Is Nattensfest the same as Christmas? If that is the case then I just wish to see a certain person again. B-but it's not really something that can be done right now so please don't worry!
2
[ Carol hisses those words to herself after she's promptly hidden herself behind the nearest corner after seeing a face that is far more familiar than most people could ever experience. Mostly because she needs to seethe for a moment.
Her other self is the last person who should be here, so the fact that she now is? That makes this personal.
...granted, it already WAS personal, but now it's just... more personal. ]
Ugh...
[ She runs a clawed, furred hand down her face. Of all the times for Elfnein to come, it had to come when she was two months into her own changes and looking more like a raccoon than ever. At least her face is still the same, save for the fur covering the entirety of it, along with darker fur around her eyes giving her the unsurprising raccoon mask look.
Put simply, it's embarassing. Especially since she's only bound to change even more next month. Still, she doubts she can avoid Elfnein forever... and even if she could, it certainly wouldn't sit right with her. The poor girl is a mess on her own... she can barely walk a few steps without falling over, after all.
So, with a long sigh, she finally makes herself known. ]
I didn't expect I'd see you again like this.
[ Suddenly, from behind, Carol! With raccoon ears, a bushy tail, and so... so much fur. If anything, the fur at least hides her blush. ]
no subject
Carol?
[ Elfnein's eyes are staring at the raccoon ears, they look very fluffy and almost like a teddy bear. With a quick shake her focus is back, the ears can wait for another time. ]
I can finally see you again.
[ She's so happy that she could cry, but that would make Carol's fur wet if she went in for a hug... ]
no subject
[ Oh yeah, she can practically see that Elfnein's eyes are practically watering. Ugh, it absolutely would get her fur wet, but...
...you're lucky Carol has a soft spot for you, Elfnein. Carol sighs and opens her arms. ]
Alright, alright, come on then. Let it all out.
[ The things she does for this crybaby... ]
no subject
I thought I would never see you again.
[ After everything with Shem-ha and burning memories again she thought everything was back at step one. So many more memory dives would need to happen again, by some luck maybe it would work again in the long run. ]
I told you to use my memories back then, why did you burn up again?
no subject
Dummy, I told you already. I just... didn't want to disappear from your memories...
no subject
It's not fair, I finally got to see you again after so long and we couldn't have a normal conversation. It was just another fight that had to be fought.
[ Even if Carol's here now the way that everything happened was just too much for Elfnein even if they were protecting their friends. ]
no subject
You crybaby...
[ She can't say it isn't a little annoying, the fact that her fur is getting messed up by Elfnein's sobbing... but she'll let it slide. If her fur is of some comfort to her other self, then she'll allow it. ]
I can't say I'm pleased that you've been brought to a place like this... but we'll have plenty of time here.
[ Anyone hurt her and Carol WILL commit war crimes against them. ]
no subject
I won't cry anymore.
[ Can't help that she got all the emotions Carol didn't want. ]
no subject
[ Carol, is that... a smile? And such a soft smile too! To think such a smile was possible for Carol Malus Dienheim. If Elfnein told anyone, they might not believe her. Yet here she is, smiling and petting Elfnein's head. ]
Now, come along. I may have fur, but it's still cold. That body was once mine, so you'd better not catch a cold with it.

[ .....
...........that is not a werebear. And the braid is the wrong length.
These two pieces of evidence are, to Saint-Germain (now Spider-Germain, her lower half replaced with that of a spider, with two of the spider-legs sprouting from her shoulders and six new eyes on her face, all of which bear equally Stern expressions), of equal weight. ]
no subject
Hello, it's been awhile Saint-Germain.
[ For Elfnein it's only been a few months since everything that happened with Adam. ]
no subject
[ Homunculus Elfnein, heretical technology and alchemy expert for S.O.N.G. Incorporator, under Saint-Germain's advisement, of some of the physics of the Philosopher's Stone into the Symphogear converter units.
Four alchemists. There isn't nearly enough evidence to open a line of inquiry as to what, if anything, this portends. Saint-Germain shall table the possibility that alchemists are being brought here on purpose, but it still leaves her ill at ease.
(Because she distrusts the powers that control Ryslig? Or because, without this girl present, S.O.N.G. loses valuable support.....
Tachibana Hibiki loses.....
That's beside the point.) ]
You seem well, Elfnein.
no subject
[ A bad way to start off but she needs to confirm what the last memory the alchemist has of everyone. ]
Do you remember what happened with Adam?
no subject
If you're investigating what point in time I'm from, I've died. A worthwhile price to be of use to humanity.
[ Why, here in Ryslig, she has even died again! Because it was the most strategically sound option to be of use to humanity!
We Have One Job! ]
no subject
[ Even if their time was brief before, Elfnein was very interested in everything Saint-Germain did alchemy wise. ]
It's helpful knowing all that, a lot happened after everything with Adam.
no subject
[ --From a source, she realizes, that it would be prudent to mention. ]
Carol Malus Dienheim is here.
no subject
[ She doesn't know how to react, their last meeting was so brief and even if they helped save the world again it wasn't worth the price paid. ]
Can you please take me to her?
no subject
[ She turns, carefully maneuvering her considerable abdomen in the street. People seem quite eager to get out of her way, however. Everyone scurries past with a look of resentment or fear.
Saint-Germain lets this all wash over her, serene in her rationality. ]

[Izumi, please.]
Admittedly, it does seem odd that most of us show up alone.
['I might be missing people, too.]
no subject
[ Elfnein just isn't sure how to respond. ]
I just arrived here myself, and I was alone.
no subject
[She’s just like this, poor Elfnein.]
It’s rather strange, isn’t it? Why take only one or two of us from the same place?

02.
What is this Lighthouse you speak of?
[ Any advice and objects given to her by the humans only earned them refusal and contempt, so she's a bit behind. ]
