TEST DRIVE MEME: SEPTEMBER
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched, with your mouth full of sand. The salt water is making all the cuts and scrapes on your skin sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean.
There are lights in the distance, but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not - you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.
SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all on the more informative end of the scale. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous readers saying they're lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there are the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien.
Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines.
Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.
SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

"I-I don't know what you are but please kindly stay away. Foul beast or creature or whatever you are!"

[She turned around, looking the shore and the edge of the island but saw nothing. Spinel blocks out the sun with her hand and squints to try and see what the stranger was talking about but nope! She shrugs]
I dunno what you’re talkin’ bout, just liddol ol’ me here, Your new friend, Spinel!!
[As she says this she attempts to do a handstand in the sand and clap her shoes together and for a moment she gets it, before she falls on her back. It doesn’t seem to phase her though as she giggles away and sits up]
What’s your name?

"New friend?"
[Oswald shook his head.]
"Oh no, I don't have any friends... trust me, you would NEVER want to be my friend. I only end up hurting those closest to me. And if I can avoid hurting anyone else, then I'd gladly choose the path of a lone wolf."
[Oswald turned around and started walking away, knowing that would be for the best.]
"Trust me, you don't want to know me."

Youuu know, you still haven’t told me your name yet mistah!

"I'm Oswald Mandus."

[What was her name again? Spinel? Yes that sounded correct.]
"Spinel... And you're right. I suppose I do feel a little gloomy."
[Dying would make anyone gloomy. But the idea of playing a game with this creature did lighten Oswald's heart slightly. It reminded him of better times... like playing games with his sons.]
"I think hide and seek would be perfect."
[That was his darlings' favorite game.]

Oookay, you start counting and I'll go hide in the green stuff over there!
[Spinel was refering to the greenery that surrounded the island, a variety of different flowers could be seen growing along the beach along with the common palm trees and other assorted plants. The pink girl ran off the warm sun kissed sand a giggling mess and into the plantlife to find a good spot to hide.]

"I suppose I have no choice but to play along, huh?"
[Although he wouldn't admit it out loud, he felt this might actually be an enjoyable experience. So putting his hands to his face, Oswald covered his eyes.]
"Okay, I'm going to count down now! 10, 9, 8..."

[In the greenery Spinel was hiding within a bush, snickering away and waiting patiently to maybe be found. A few minuets go by before she hears a ruslting within the same bush she was crouched in, she turned around to see what else was hiding with her]

[When Oswald opened his eyes, he was met with the sight of an empty beach. But the footprints in the sand hinted at the direction that Spinel might've taken. It seemed to lead to a patch of greenery next to the beach.
Quietly, Oswald made his way towards the area. Now he was never quite good at this game. His sons were far better at Hide and Seek than he was. But he certainly tried his best whenever he was "it" and sometimes he was successful. But 99% of the time, he found himself outmatched.]
"I got you!"
[But alas, he was mistaken as he circled around the tree and found that it was barren. Where could that girl have gotten off to? There were still plenty of hiding places to check though.]

RUN. RUN. RUN. RUN. RUN
[Behind her, there was a large mammmal chasing her down, possibly due to the smaller and far cuter version of itself nesting in Spinels arms. The creature that seemed to be a boar was furious, but Spinel just continued running, right past Oswald and back onto the beach]
