TEST DRIVE MEME: SEPTEMBER
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched, with your mouth full of sand. The salt water is making all the cuts and scrapes on your skin sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean.
There are lights in the distance, but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not - you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.
SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all on the more informative end of the scale. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous readers saying they're lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there are the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien.
Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines.
Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.
SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

A month... It's only been a month here. [And yet it had felt like an eternity.] A-and I'm glad to see you, but... But not here... [Yuya was trying his best not to cry, but it was incredibly hard. He knew of the fog god, Tsukikage had told him about it. He'd also told him there was no way back.
Yuzu would change. And he couldn't stop it.]

Yuzu I- [Yuya can't finish, mostly because without even thinking, he goes in to hug her against his better judgement.] I'm so sorry...

What's the last thing you remember before coming here? [He pulled back and looked into Yuzu's eyes.] This... thing [He refused to call it a god.] Can apparently take you from any point in time, just to... Just to mess with you.
[Yuya seemed bitter, although he would never outright say that, he was easy to read. It was possible he'd been stewing on thoughts of revenge for over a month... Very unlike him.]

That thing... They call it a 'god' here. But it's anything but. [He let go of the hug finally, though reluctantly. And continued.] This 'Fog god" just... takes you here. And makes you a monster... Like it's some kind of 'gift'.
[He spat the last word with a kind of bitterness uncommon for Yuya, if anything, his voice and inflection made him sound more similar to Zarc. But he was Zarc, just as he was Yuya, he was whole again after all.]

[He didn't mean to yell, it just sort of happened. And in the process he balled his hand into a fist, digging his own claws into his skin. Even when blood pooled he didn't seem to care, he was just... Upset. The starting of tears gave it away.]
The only thing that was keeping me going the past month is that you were safe and at home... I... I can't I don't want this...
[Yuya retreated in on himself, and put his goggles on, the first time he'd done so in a while.]

Can we... Sit down, just anywhere? I need... I need to think...

Thanks, I...
[Yuya didn't finish, probably cause he didn't what to really say. He was overwhelmed. Everything spun around in his head like a never ending merry-go-round and it made him feel sick. It made the aching in his bones just that much more prominent... And every time he glanced at Yuzu that pain would increase. Like a stabbing feeling.
After a moment, that felt like too long. He removed his goggles. Tears falling out and slightly soaking his pants. Not that he cared.]
I'm... [His emotions were so mixed and jumbled, he could barely talk. Part of him wanted to run, but another part of him told him to stay. And he was listening to that part for now.
He searched for Yuzu's hand, and lightly placed his own on top. Worried about the new claws, he was overly gentle.]
I'm really thankful you're here... I was so sure I'd never see you again...
[Despite saying this, Yuya doesn't look at Yuzu, in fact he's avoiding eye contact entirely.]
When I saw you again, it was like being here didn't matter, I wanted to see you again and I...[He starts to mumble, unable to organize his own thoughts.] Does that make me a bad person? I feel like deep down, it's my fault you showed up here.

Thanks, I like you too...
[That was the right response, right? He... He wasn't too sure, especially with Yuzu. But he did feel better. At least somewhat.]

Yeah...[Yuya nodded.] You can count on me...
[He continued to smile but looked away again. Concealing a very slight blush. He wasn't sure why he was blushing, but this... This felt nice... He could live with being a monster if Yuzu was here...]
