TEST DRIVE MEME: JUNE
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched, with your mouth full of sand. The salt water is making all the cuts and scrapes on your skin sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean.
There are lights in the distance, but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not - you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.
SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all on the more informative end of the scale. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous readers saying they're lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there are the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien.
Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines.
Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.
SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
Celestia Ludenberg | Danganronpa
[Despite her utter confusion at finding herself waking up in a daze on... a beach of all places, the Ultimate Gambler did not allow her bewilderment show on her face. This had to be one of Monokuma's games, didn't it?
Slowly, she got to her feet and dusted her tattered skirt down.]
...This simply cannot be real.
[But if it was a dream, she wouldn't feel pain, would she? And although the ocean breeze was cold, that burning smell felt a little too similar to the scent of the bonfire at that execution.
First task, get out of the open and find someone she knew. Weird as this situation was, she just had to adapt.]
[2: Treat Me Like A Queen]
[Celeste, honestly, thought that the pamphlets she was being given about people turning into monsters sounded like nonsense to her. However, she was perfectly happy to play along with the locals so long as they were giving her food and shelter. It was almost comforting, in fact, and she was very much enjoying being treated like the fearsome vampire queen of her dreams!
She's just giving the villager who'd brought her an offering of sweet treats a pleasant, but slightly dangerous smile.]
Ah, you are too kind. If you continue to present me such gifts, then perhaps I will show mercy on you.
[3: Wildcard!]
[ooc: Any other ideas you want to play with her, let me know!]
2;
[It's one more "offering", though this one isn't any food - this tiny punk girl is merely holding out an empty tote, an extra of the ones she's already filled and started to heft around herself.]
This is somethin' yer gonna want. They're startin' to hand out so much, carryin' it in your arms is just a bad plan.
Frankly, I'd rather they start handin' out stuff that's actually a little fillin'...
[Does that mean her own totes are full of junk? Unfortunately, yes. Yes it does.]

Perfect.
[Just giving a friendly smile to this newcomer as she put the items she had been carrying into the bag. Ah, if only she had a bag more in keeping with her gothic style...but this would be fine, for now.]
...It seems as if you are being inundated with these 'gifts' as well? I cannot say I dislike the respect these people are offering us.

... But at least it means gettin' taken seriously around here.
[She's not a big fan of the fear, even as the Dark type Gym Leader, but as long as she's not being treated like a kid she can't really complain.
That smile of Celeste's is nice, though, after getting all the painfully forced ones from the locals. Kinda makes her wish she could actually get her face to make one for her in return.
The most she can manage is an impossibly small smile. Celeste might have to squint to see it. Maybe tilt her head some.]
'Member to be careful, of course. I keep hearin' about people shovin' guns an' things like that up in others' faces just for bein' from out of town like we are.

There is no harm in keeping up with their little game.
[Not when it got her treated with respect. And, honestly? Part of her liked the fear - it gave her some feeling of control over this weird situation.
She did spot that smile though - she was more than good enough at reading people to notice that little twitch.
Still, that last line was disturbing.]
...I've not encountered anyone like that, yet.
1
... but she is one nonetheless, despite all that. Sonia musters her endless willpower, and steps out onto the beach, pushing some kelp hair back behind her ear as she does. ]
I'm afraid it is. [ She pauses for a moment. ] You're not injured, are you? We should probably get off the beach before we get any more arrivals.

Still, Celeste had no intention of letting any concern show on her face. However frightened she was be the strange circumstances, lying to herself was one of her talents. So for the time being, she'll give Sonia a polite smile.]
A few scratches aside, I am not.
[Which, considering her last memory...she shouldn't be alive, let alone almost completely unscathed.]
...Do you honestly expect me to believe that this is in any way normal?
