TEST DRIVE MEME: JUNE
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched, with your mouth full of sand. The salt water is making all the cuts and scrapes on your skin sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean.
There are lights in the distance, but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not - you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.
SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all on the more informative end of the scale. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous readers saying they're lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there are the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien.
Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines.
Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.
SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

"Um, I'm a goblin!" she answers easily, focusing back on the gunman. "You should probably go now, one of you at least. The people in Vandare don't like monsters at all, even when they're not monsters yet."
no subject
Given he'd never even heard of Vandare, these people shouldn't even know him, especially given that wherever the hell he was apparently had actual sentient, talking monsters running around.
"It isn't nice to judge people when they only just arrive on their shores."
The words were in part directed to both the goblin girl and the man. Preferably, he'd rather the man left so he could continue to question the goblin, since he rather doubted he'd get anything out of the man considering he'd been willing to shoot him on sight before the girl showed up.
Not only that but he had no actual idea where to actually go if he did depart first.
no subject
Finally he tears out from between the two and runs, cursing them as he goes.
Reira sighs. "Phew. I didn't want to actually hurt him..." It'd be quite a waste. And upsetting, mostly. She looks back to Kaiba. "Ummmh.... ...So what's your name?" That's a good spot to start right?
no subject
Instead he watches as the man flees while cursing them, attention drawn back to the goblin before him by her words. "Kaiba." A second later and he expanded upon that answer. "Kaiba Seto."
no subject
Kaiba...kaiba... "...Eh? The other order... ...It's been a while since I heard names that way- um, I'm Akaba Reira then!" she answers in turn, nodding after a moment.
no subject
Damn it, he wanted actual answers that cleared things up, not answers that just beget more questions.
"What can you tell me about what the hell is going on here?"
no subject
Well, she ultimately decides it's probably safe enough. Frowning, she starts to explain. "You're in Ryslig- it means the Fog took you here, from wherever you were before. You can't get out- no one can, because we're still trying to make something that can do it without hurting anyone...but the problem is that the Fog turns everyone she brings here into monsters. And that's going to happen long before we get the machine working..."
no subject
He has a sickening feeling if he gave into the desire to pull on those ears, there would be no give in them. It could be an elaborate act, but the thing that actually had him doubting it was, was the simple fact there was no reason to pull him into such an far-fetched and undoubtedly extremely expensive and expansive bad play just to screw with his mind and occupy his time.
So instead of calling Reira out on this whole thing being either a hoax or a charade, he merely questions one part of her explanation that caught his attention most. "Machine?"
no subject
"So we're trying to make sure nothing like that happens again before doing it again."
