Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:
Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together.
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
Sorry you came across Eren, Hope. He's prickly and suspicious. But there's few people as prepared to be lost in the woods as Eren is. The knife makes him feel comfortable, in control of the situation.
But finally, after pausing a few seconds, he lets the hand with the knife drop to one side. "... Yeah. Same here, actually."
No longer being pointed at with a knife is a small relief, but he's still going to stay out of the boy's range. No sense in getting too careless or relaxed, even if he doesn't think the boy is really going to gut him. Some things just happen if you're startled.
Hope's not even sure that he's going to be relaxed while he's here. This place just has an eerie feeling to it.
"Then that makes two of us. Are you traveling alone or with someone else?"
"I could tell where exactly I'd come form, but I doubt it would be much help."
Not to mention it really wont do much. He's tried to take in some landmarks, and anything unusual to help him distinguish one thing from another, but everything looks exactly the same, which is disturbing in itself. Not to mention, it feels like he's been walking for hours without getting anywhere. Like running on an escalator or ramp that's going the opposite way. What kind of forest seems like it's endless?
Really, the best method he can think of is to climb a tree and see if there's something in the distance.
"Unfortunately, I doubt that would help either. I've tried that tactic myself, but as you can see I'm not back in town, where I want to be." He holds his hands out, palms up, in his own version of a shrug.
He'll try and help anyway, but he knows it wont do much. He's made too many twists and turns even if he's tried to walk in a relatively straight line. He knows he's been turned around a few times, coming across his own footprints on the ground.
"But I came that way." Points over his shoulder. "From the forest entrance, I went forward, turned east and went from there. I've turned around once to get back, but it didn't do me much good."
"Great. So it's not just me... I don't know if that's a good thing, or not."
He sighs, then starts walking in the direction Hope indicates, marking a tree as his goes, this time with an arrow pointing in the direction he's going.
"It's better than anything else I could be doing."

Even if he was a trained scout, he'd broken the cardinal rule; never go out alone. But it wasn't like he'd been able to find anyone to go with him.
"I was trying to get the lay of the land, but now I'm good and lost."

Eren points at the markings he's left on the trees.
"As you can see, these haven't been helping much..."
