Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together.
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
[Eren has way too much pride in himself as a member of the Scouting Regiment to admit he's lost. Especially not to someone who thought it would be a good idea to sneak up on him in the middle of the night in a forest.]
[but wait. He's hearing the sounds too? So Eren isn't just going crazy] You hear it too? The laughing?
No... [Another thing Eren seems distressed about. He should be able to track the sounds down. Should. But every lead he chased just became a dead end. Maybe that was how he got so hopelessly lost] I'm trying to ignore them, now, and just focus on getting back to civilization. But it's... urgh. It's like they're mocking me!
Somewhere in the woods. Anywhere- as long as they're not attacking us it's fine by me.
[Huff! Look at you all prepared over there with your canteen. He mentally berates himself for not thinking of that. Hiking was never his strong suit.]
I didn't think I wandered too far from the edge of this place, but now I don't see anything at all that resembles a break in the trees.
[He can tell it's been a few hours since he'd set out, too. There's significantly less light filtering through the trees than when he set out. - He sighs]
[well that was a surprisingly pragmatic point of view. But Eren isn't so convinced. Not being able to tell the direction of the voices, nor the direction he had come from was grating on his nerves. What if they were laying a trap?
And a soldier is always a soldier, Ruby. Eren never leaves on "adventures" unprepared]
I noticed the same thing. I've been marking the trees, but I've been going around in circles.
[It's more like Ruby doesn't want to consider a worse scenario than that; he's really out of his element here. Unless he finds his pokemon.. he's pretty helpless, and that is exactly what led to this situation in the first place. He'd went to the edge of the woods to look for his missing companions and got himself lost.]
Well that explains the markings I've been seeing.
- What were you looking at before you got startled by me, anyway?
Huh? Oh. [Eren looks up the tree] I was trying to climb this tree and get a better look at this forest from above. Maybe figure out which direction Vandere is. Or at least the coast, or a river, or something. But it's too high.
Right. But this forest... [ He places a hand on one of the trees. It's huge, and smooth. Ancient] It's really old. These trees have got to be 50 meters tall, at least.

There has to be a tree around here that has lower branches than this one or a younger tree that's climbable around here.
