TEST DRIVE MEME: SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched, with your mouth full of sand. The salt water is making all the cuts and scrapes on your skin sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean.
There are lights in the distance, but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not - you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.
SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all on the more informative end of the scale. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous readers saying they're lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there are the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien.
Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines.
Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.
SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

Who are you? [Ever the classy one, Speedwagon. Everything else is momentarily forgotten and he's real glad that the nervousness of this ridiculous nonsense he's been paired with didn't get thrust onto him as well.
He can certainly feel his heart beginning to race, which is never a good sign, but he's learned that if he's gained one advantage of this monster thing? He has a way out of bad situations.]

[He tilts his head a bit, because it's hard to give someone the side-eye when your eyes don't face forward, and moves forward a bit in the water so he won't have to raise his voice so much to be heard. It's slow going, since he's literally running on half horse power, but he's not about to haul ass for a complete stranger.]
Weird question to ask a horse.
[He's just gonna - he's not even sure what you would call it, really. He just sort of thinks really hard about being human until he is one again, or at least sort of looks it. It's harder to stay afloat in this form, but it's much less awkward to hold a conversation, so it's a fair trade.]
Why don't you try again, maybe introduce yourself first this time?

That mark, I have only ever seen one man with it and you certainly are not him. [He may be talking a little faster with a good undertone of actually nervousness creeping into his voice. He's not scared or bothered by this man in that manner, it's more... that's not something that should be a possibility as far as he's aware.
But yes, right, names he supposes.]
Robert E. O. Speedwagon, now please do tell me your name. [Not the smoothest of introductions, either, but it should do well enough for the time being.]

[Johnny frowns, his brows furrowing as he looks Speedwagon up and down, searching for his presence anywhere in his memories of the short time he spent in England as a boy. His face and name don't ring any bells, but Johnny's dad knew plenty of folks in high society that he never bothered introducing him to. Maybe this Speedwagon is one of those guys.]
Ah. I'm guessing you mean my old man.
[Talking about his dad is something he can only do very briefly, once in a blue moon - he's not about to elaborate further.]
Johnny Joestar. He probably never mentioned me.

It's the old man comment and name that gets a frown out of him and he's backing up just a step or two.]
Johnny Joestar... [That's... huh. He supposes there could be some relation there, there was that unborn child, he supposes...]
I di-... do know of a Jonathan Joestar, but he died not that long ago. Though I suppose the possibility of being a descendant wouldn't be unheard of, given his legacy in such a short lifespan...
