Test drive meme: January
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched, with your mouth full of sand. The salt water is making all the cuts and scrapes on your skin sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance, but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not - you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.
SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all on the more informative end of the scale. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous readers saying they're lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there are the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines.
Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.
SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

Everything you know. Where am I? What about the people who did this? What planet is this? [She can at least rule out Pandora, because as familiar as the faint whiff of gunpowder is, the idea of being able to stand even this long on a beach and not have a thresher erupt from the ground and try to attack is pretty rare.] Any information you have will be useful.

(She's trying to be as matter-of-fact as possible, just the facts, nothing else.) No 'person' did this, unfortunately- you were pulled here, from your home world, by a being called the Fog God.
(Now they're closing in on the limits of Lucretia's knowledge. She pauses for a moment, her hands lowering slowly.) I– confess I'm not entirely sure of why. She purportedly needs our help with something, but I am not sure of... of what. Just that we're here, and that we cannot leave until she lets us.

That at least means Athena will let her go, and the square of her shoulders shifts from something a little less close to "ready to attack". She's not relaxed by any means, but she's marginally less close to snapping.]
Ryslig... [Pandora, Elpis, the Edens, and so on... even with all the planets she's been to, the name fails to ring a bell.]
Right. Of course they have to be vague about it. [That's always how they get you, isn't it?] I'm guessing this fog god has made any methods of getting off-world difficult? What about weapons?
[... Yeah she's 100 percent ready to jump in fighting to find a way out...]

(She grew a tail only days prior, so forgive the gaps in her knowledge, Athena.)
But yes, from what I've experienced while living here so far, the Fog God seems determined to make getting away from here as difficult as it can be. Like I said, she 'needs our help', and so she is reluctant to let us go before we can, I suppose.
(She's spitballing here; she's also assumed it's fine to start asking questions back. A lot of the tension has finally bled out of this encounter.) Where did you come from?
no subject
Pandora. Hollow Point, specifically. Have there been any other arrivals reporting to be from there?
[The hard glare of her gaze sort of... shifts a little at that. It's still a very hard expression to read, but there's less anger there and more... a hint of worry, perhaps?]
no subject
... Not that I know of, but I haven't met everybody who lives here. It's certainly possible other people you know could be here already.
(After all, she knows three other people! She lucked out, for sure.)
