So Faust ultimately likes Rick, although I think that he recognizes a certain level of concerning... callousness about him lol. He chalks it up to a difficult life and is ultimately sympathetic, since he's been in Ryslig long enough to know that people come from all manner of different worlds and experiences. Ironically he's in no place to judge (having been driven insane by the death of his wife and his pursuit of the dark arts), but he does sort of believe that maybe if he's extra kind to and around Rick, he could be a good influence on him!

As a generally nice person, Faust is pretty good at sussing out other generally nice people. He feels like Waldo is hiding a lot of angst that he's not super upfront about (I mean, he's talked about it a little but experimentally giving people gills isn't normal even if you have that Frankenstein mentality and can justify a lot of experimentation for ends that are important to you.) Then again, he might be projecting a little, because Faust's crazy isn't something he typically wears on his sleeve until there's a reason for it to come out. He always gravitates toward others who are medically and scientifically minded, and doesn't really judge Waldo for his bedside manner, because he's just so grateful to have people to talk to again after so many years spent in isolation. I see their CR going a lot of interesting places!

Also in the threads there's really a sense Faust feels happy to interact and that's just plain heartwarming. Butters has only had bad experiences with necromancers and in general in his universe necromancy is bad news so 'you're what now' should be interesting. Butters should have guessed because it's right in the name though. Faust.
