I totally lost this! But I'm going to do it now. So Rin doesn't have that strong an opinion on Butters though, other than his being a fellow harpy. WHICH IS SUPER IMPORTANT TO RIN. Because gosh Rin wants a flock. He did think Butters was overall pretty cool about the whole flying thing and didn't freak out half as much as he could have.

So yes, Rin adores Paul, even though he's a grumpypuss. He's happy to know he can actually redirect Paul's general aggravation with the world to something positive, like fighting the gods. He's not as cutthroat about the prospect as Paul is, but he does admire Paul's conviction. So long as it's not getting Rin's friends hurt. He's also happy to have a flying protege because Rin wants a flock so much. And helping Paul helps give Rin a better sense of purpose in Ryslig, beyond just his endless bitterness toward the gods. He's getting better at putting up with Paul's moodiness, I think, and leaning more into teasing him when he gets the chance. Like a little brother.

Kokichi is still a big question mark to Rin. He annoys the spit out of him. But Rin also gets the feeling that that's exactly what Kokichi is going for, and he doesn't get why. Something about the way Kokichi talks about it sounds oddly contradictory. So he knows it's more than just Kokichi being an ass. In this sense, Kokichi is right. It does hold his interest. Even if he wants to slap him 90% of the time. He just really wants to know what's behind someone so insistent on living a life of constant lies.
