That figures... I was going to make a point to avoid those plants this time, but it seems I wasn't prepared.

[Kain sighs. It's not as if it... was such a bad thing, no harm done and all, right? Plus, he didn't get 'rescued' by AM, which is something of a bonus this time around.]

I just don't like it when this world influences us in such ways... [A pause.] The dip itself was an exciting touch.

Well, it's not the most glowing review I've ever had, but I'll take it.

[Hawkeye pats his shoulder good-naturedly.]

Anyway, what's this about influencing us? I'm just getting in the festive mood.

[He frowns up at the mistletoe, trying his best not to stand directly underneath it again.]

It's this plant, apparently it has this effect on people. It seems to always just appear around this time of year, too, so I'd assume it's the doing of the gods. Who else has such power?

That... that plant. It traps people beneath it, and the only means to get free is a kiss. I'm not too sure how it works. I've often wondered if it also compels people to kiss, as well. I wouldn't put such an effect past these gods.

[Especially given some of the other things they've pulled in the past.]

Well, why else would you conveniently bump into me under the mistletoe?

[That look that Rio gives him is hilarious. The sheer effort she puts into turning around just so she can glare over her shoulder - it's admirable. He just laughs again.]

[AM doesn't make a great effort to grab the glasses. When Waldo steps to the side, he just drops his hand back down.]

A compulsion, hm?

[He leans in slightly.]

You felt compelled to get me under the mistletoe?

[He knows though that Lust likely won't do anything to him. After all, they had had many pleasant encounters together, and anything harmful came from AM.]

I suppose I'd want to go with the more pleasant venom, if I had the choice.

That makes no logical sense.

[He folds his arms, but his smirk doesn't fade. No, it widens more, as if they're in a competition to see who can look the haughtiest. Obviously Nate isn't intimidated by AM, or if he is he certainly hides it.]

You see, kissing involves touching.

[AM will have to accept that Hawkeye's version of nervous balking is him turning everything into a joke. A silly front to put on, but a front nonetheless.]

[When the kiss breaks, though, he doesn't let go of Hawkeye. If Hawkeye is going to play a role, AM will play another.]

[And he leans in once more.]

The fact you think it's convenient for me is a result of your overinflated ego. It's quite the opposite, I assure you.

[And he stands there, pulled into the mistletoe's orbit, not willing to let go and kiss AM. Also not able to reach even if he was willing.]

Uh, there's ways to defuse spells. Salt maybe? Water? I guess a sprinkler system is out of the question here?

Well, I don't see you attempting to get away.

[How much can he push her with words alone? He's not offended, but clearly she is by the way she deliberately tries to turn away from him.]
