TEST DRIVE MEME: NOVEMBER

Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!

SCENARIO ONE

You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.

SCENARIO TWO

So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.

SCENARIO THREE

"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.

SCENARIO FOUR

The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[ Inga is unfamiliar with the area as well, and they're looking for a bunyipyip because it's a funny sounding name but then there are distractions all over the place.

Like this guy! What's up with him? ]

Hey! Why do you wear a mask? It doesn't cover your mouth.

[foxhands]

[? He blinks at the question, staring curiously at the stranger in front of him. Nobody's asked him that before, strangely enough.

A blink, a stare, a blank second of opening his mouth and closing it again because he doesn't actually know how to answer that. Hm.]

.....It's important. [Truth.]

[ This guy is looking like it's the strangest question ever, but is it really? Inga asks way stranger questions for work.

And that's the best answer ever. ]

Important how? Important like you'll die if you take it off?

[foxhands]

Ye-- [well no that'd be lying.

He cuts off that automatic response, trying to think of a better answer, but.

...all he manages is a shake of the head. It's important! Because he needs it? His only remaining bit of comfort in a strange new world.]

[ Why'd he cut himself off? Eh, whatever. ]

Really? But it doesn't cover your mouth? Is it magical?

[ Inga wishes they still had their magic and could grab the mask to look at it more closely. ]

[foxhands]

[Why all the questions, ah.....this would be so much easier if his fox were here.]

I......it's. Not magical....

[He fidgets a little, looks away, breathes.]

.....Armor.

Armor? Ooooh~

[ Inga is amazed. They haven’t met that many people with armor lately. ]

Why’s it not on all of your face?

[foxhands]

Because.

[A confident answer!!

why is he confident that's not even an answer]

Because isn't an answer.

[ They puff up their cheeks and waves a panda mittened hand around. ]

Shinjuurou says so! If Inga can't use because as an answer other people can't either!

Shinjuurou?

[A curious tilt of the head. Whoever it is, it's not like they're Nakigitsune's master, but. Who!]

He's Inga's human! And he works as a detective and Inga is his assistant.

[foxhands]

[Ohhhh okay, that's cool.]

Does your human let you kill people and eat their souls?

....Souls aren't for eating.

[He's not a soul eater? That's the wrong manga.]

Yes they are, human souls spilling truths after lots of lies is especially tasty.

[Well he might not eat souls himself, but maybe there's creatures out there that do...sure, why not.]

Like when killers that have lied and lied and lied fi~nally are forced to tell the truth!

[ Inga spreads their arms in a wiiide motion. (And they miss how they can't make them stretch off in the distances.) ]
