TEST DRIVE MEME: NOVEMBER

Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!

SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.

SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.

SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.

SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[ He's so invested in his newfound not-dead life that he actually doesn't hear Marco come up. He's trying to process how in fact this could've happened. He was nowhere near his body from what he last remembered, so it's not like he could've gotten back to it before anything had happened --

Yomiel jerked when Marco spoke up, taking several steps back. Whatever he was expecting, it wasn't... that. Though it was nice to see someone else, he wasn't exactly expecting a fishperson. ]

Is this the afterlife?

[ That was the only even remotely explanation that he could think of, as highly improbable as it was. ]
peccatore: (we may have much... to fear)

[The reaction doesn't surprise him, frankly. He's heard of enough people who died and woke up here and still couldn't shake that impression even after hearing all about Ryslig.

... Then there was that one time he looked like an angel. That probably didn't help.]

I'm afraid not. But on the bright side, you're alive right now.

[ He snorted; alive was a relative term. He couldn't feel the Temsik fragment's radiation, nor could he move from his body to any other core, but the more he thought about it, the more he was sure there was nothing different in his present state. ]

Are you alive?

[ It was possible that maybe this fish guy was giving off some interference that wasn't allowing him to move freely... though it didn't explain the getup. Cosplay, maybe?

He sighed, lifting his glasses to rub his eyes for a moment. Regardless of who was alive and who wasn't, he had a lot more pressing matters. Like getting back to that submarine. ]

Anyway, did you see a submarine out in the water before you found me? Or some people with blue skin and overall looking suspicious?
peccatore: (what do you mean YOU'RE the boss)

[That's a question Marco finds somewhat more unusual, but the answer tumbles out of his mouth before he can wonder why it's being asked:] Right now, yes.

[... Could have phrased that better, probably. Maybe he should gloss over it by now? It can be hard to fight against that knack he has for letting all his ideas mash together and fight for dominance (and is THAT better or worse than those times when his train of thought just halts completely?), but he wouldn't want to overwhelm a new guy.]

Ah, no submarines, I'm afraid. Whatever you were looking for before you woke up here, you... probably won't be able to find.

[On second thought, he's not doing too great at this "lay out the details one by one and take it easy" thing, is he?]
