Test Drive Meme
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
Daenerys Targaryen | Game of Thrones
( The soft sounds of the waves breaking onto sand doesn't encourage consciousness. Instead, it's a sound that lulls a mind to sleep and creates an audio cacoon in which rest should come easily. Dany has heard the sound before, having occupied a harbor town or two. Since taking residence in Dragonstone, she can easily look out of her window and see the vast sea spread below her, a body of water that was once an obstacle and now stands as a testament to her power - the Dothraki had crossed for her. However, the sand isn't her usual bed, and she wakes before her slight weight can cause an indentation in the ground below her.
It isn't a quickened realization. Green eyes take time to look around and when she finally pushes herself up, sand has had time to tangle into her long silver hair. Once realization for her situation does hit, it's quick as if to make up for the time spent lost in confusion. Dany is a strong woman, a Queen by right, but the same thing that deposited her on the beach clung to her mind and slowed down her thought processes. )
What kind of game is this?
( The lack of answer disturbs her, but she can't allow her enemies to see fear or uncertainty. Instead, she turns, looking for some form of life. )
I won't play. Come out now.
scenerio two
Thank you, but this isn't what I need. I only need to know my location.
( Her words seem pointless as if she's speaking to caricatures of villagers rather than people themselves. Dany tries not to take the frustration of the situation out on the people, people who are likely not involved in the kidnapping of a Queen. Nonetheless, as they continue to ignore her, a deep seated something wishes to declare her title and demand answers, but her intelligence stills her tongue. This isn't a Dothraki tribe, the Unsullied, or any other people pledged to serve her, and Dany's dragons are nowhere to be seen.
Why are they giving the strange papers? After her questions remain unanswered, she finally turns to read it.)
Axe Thief Axehounds? Am I in the North? Do you know of Jon Snow?
( That seems to get the same reply as the others: none at all. )
scenerio three
(ooc: any that you would like to try would be more than welcome.)
two
Not sure about a Jon Snow, but I can tell you more about this place than these guys.
[He jerks a thumb at a passing local, who gives him a somewhat fearful glance and scurries off.]
Don't worry about the papers. Most of them are jokes.
no subject
This man is a stranger as well, someone she doesn't recognize, but the information would be wonderful. )
They're meant to be amusing? ( Dany isn't prone to bouts of humor, not really, but she can normally understand a joke. In these, she fails to see what is meant to be funny. ) Your help would be appreciated. I'm not sure how I ended up on your shores.
no subject
[As someone else goes to give Dany a leaflet about the fur-bearing trout, the incredibly unimpressed look he gives them makes them reconsider.]
Basically, the Fog God decided you should be here, so... you're here. Not sure why she wants us around yet, or how she picks people. No way of leaving once you're here, though. Sorry.
no subject
( Many had used the same words, many had tried to capture her for one purpose or another, and all had failed. If Dany had simply seen the chains as binding, her life would be one of a meek child instead of a strong Queen. This fog god, whoever she may be, is yet another who would confine her, another who would fail. )
I would like to meet with this god of yours.
no subject
[He blinks at the idea of actually meeting with the Fog God, though.]
Uh... I'm not sure how to do that. I don't follow her. Not even sure if it's possible.
[He rubs his eyes under his shades, thinking on it.]
Best bet would be to find someone who follows her, but you might wanna save that for later. When you're out of here. Not everyone is gonna be so nice. They know it's just a matter of time before you're one of us. That's why they're giving you things to begin with, they're hoping you remember it.
no subject
Are you saying your kind hurts these people?
( Dany isn't sure who 'us' is, but she doesn't like the idea of the people here giving gifts in order to appease anyone. It feels too much like thievery, like slavery. )
Who is it you think I will become?
no subject
[He looks up at the sky; it won't be long now, and then he can prove it.]
Not sure what you'll become exactly. I just know you'll turn, and then you'll get hungry too. Come on, we should get outta here.
[He steps back a few paces, apparently hoping she'll follow him.]
no subject
( Her green eyes travel along Craig's form, as if looking for proof of his words and finding none. She would have assumed he meant savages or something of the sort, but he used the words 'transform at night', imply the changes were more physical.
Despite being petite, Dany straightens her back and clasps her hands in front of her, somehow managing to exude power. Being Queen has given her a lot of confidence.
No, earning the title is what gave her the confidence. )
I have no proof of your words. Before I am to follow you, tell me where we are going. I need to return to ... ( Dragonstone doesn't escape her lips. It would give away her identity too quickly, and she was physically powerless right then. ) Winterfell.
no subject
[He can tell that she's someone important, at least where she's from. Here though, it doesn't matter. Boone will treat her with respect, but he won't go beyond what he'd normally do for someone.]
Never heard of Winterfell. Sorry. Got a feeling you're a long way from it.
no subject
( A small village, then, one so small that it may not even be officially acknowledged. Could she really find help in a place so small? Or was it a city she simply didn't remember studying? She had no formal education, but Dany had done her best to teach herself about her homelands. The idea she didn't know one is disconcerting. )
And what is it you plan to show me in Bavan?
iii meant vandare not bavan pretend that's what i said lmao :')
[Hopefully it doesn't alarm her too much.]
You've still got some time before your changes start. So don't worry about that yet.
two
It's the south, actually. But probably not any south you heard of.
[Raynie grins - a casual, cheerful smile meant to be reassuring, though the fangs might spoil the impression.]
You should be glad these guys are quiet for a change. Half the time they try to sell you something.
no subject
Almost instinctively, Dany raises a hand to touch the scales, but she does realize Raynie isn't one of her dragons in time to stop herself and retract the hand. What is she? A mixture of human and dragon, something even more amazing than dragons themselves. Looking doesn't supply the answer her brain seeks. )
Amazing... ( For the first time, the queen understands how others felt when they saw her step from the fire with baby dragons. Even her question no longer matters. ) I have never seen such a creature. You are much like a dragon, but I can see you are human. I don't understand.
no subject
I'm a gargoyle. I guess it's like a mix of human and dragon. [She's heard it from enough people to start using the term herself. It's more dignified than "flying lizard", at any rate.] I know it's really confusing, but… all these papers about changes? They're not all bogus.
no subject
( From a time before modern slang, Dany's unable to confidently decide what the word means. Obviously, it speaks of the validity of the words, but to a positive or negative degree? )
I have a difficult time believing the written words. Tales are passed around to children and weak men, tales meant to control them and bring them fear. Are these such words?
no subject
[Man, does that mean she'll have to actually mind her words?]
Some of it is nonsense, yeah, but not everything. It's a warning, but being afraid of it isn't gonna help.
no subject
( The look in her eyes is obvious disbelief as she looks back at the pamphlets. Despite the obvious connection to her dragons, it's nearly impossible for Dany to believe Raynie. )
I rarely fear what I do believe, I won't waste fear on these tales.
( It's not impossible, of course, considering the White Walkers and her own dragons, but the existence of some creatures doesn't make all the stories real. )
no subject
Some are real, yeah. [She gestures to herself, like she's some kind of proof.] I wasn't always a gargoyle.
