Test Drive Meme
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

Well let's not look a gift horse in the mouth. No telling when Mr. Shotgun decides to come back and maybe with friends.
He accepts his hand pulls himself up to his feet. ]
Well, it's certainly an impression of some sort. Thanks for encouraging that person they were needed elsewhere. Umm... and this may sound crazy but...
[ He frowns a little. How exactly is he going to ask where he is WITHOUT actually sounding crazy? ]
no subject
[It's exactly the situation Boone was in not long ago, only he was lucky enough to be sent down via lightning.]
The short of it is, you're in Ryslig and you were summoned by the Fog God. The long of it is... well, actually, that's pretty much it. The guy pointing the gun at you probably figured it'd be better to kill you now to protect the people he cares about. Actually, leaving might be a good idea. Before he comes back.
[He starts walking back the way he came, expecting Scorpius to follow.]
no subject
That sounds like a very good idea.
[ Why would he be afraid he'd kill him or his family though? Scorpius considered himself pretty much harmless unless cornered. There was the issue of his parentage that might make some suspicious, but some stranger on a beach wouldn't know that. ]
I feel like after that I should be the one worried about my murder, not the other way around.

[He points to his bear ears.]
But pretty soon you'll turn into one of the monsters here too, and you'll have to eat the humans still left here. He probably figured it'd be easier to just kill you now, but death doesn't stick here.

[ He stops once he realizes he's babbling again. A habit he's been trying to break forever but isn't likely to fix anytime soon if ever. ]
So... you've said a lot of things about this place that quite honestly just raise more questions the least of which is my own sanity but before I get into any of that I do have one... very important thing to ask.
[ He takes a deep breath. ]
You're not leading me off to pop me in a pot and cook me for dinner are you?
[ Since he mentioned eating humans and all. ]
no subject
[And he's not the type to trick someone like that. Easier to just shoot and be done with it.]
Or I could've let him shoot you and then eat you once he left. Either way, you wouldn't be around to ask. So what did you wanna ask?
no subject
A few things. Do you want them one at a time or all at once so you can decide the ease of answer but will be forced to listen to some potentially long run on questions?
no subject
[It's not like he knows everything about this place. Far from it, actually. But he knows people change, he's familiar with many of the monsters, and he's had many of the questions Scorpius has.]
no subject
This 'Fog God' who are they and what do they want? Do they have some kind of endgame in mind? I'm assuming they must have summoned you as well, and others? And then there's the business about those [ He gestures towards his ears. ] that's what's going to happen to me? You said I'd turn into one of the monsters here, I'm assuming that's literal, why?
[ He pauses, frowns. ]
I'm not getting back to school anytime soon, am I?
no subject
Not sure who the Fog God is, or what she wants. Just that she brought us here, and after a while we start changing. You won't know what kinda monster you'll be until it starts happening, and as far as I know nobody knows why she wants us like this. She might have a plan, she might just be bored.
[He sounds irritated at the thought of just being here on account of some god being bored.]
All I know is that once you've started changing, you'll feel hungry eventually. Only way to keep yourself from going insane is to feed on the people here. If you don't, you'll just lose your mind and attack someone anyway.
[He did it several times while in electric form, thanks to the Fourth God. At this point, Boone's opinion is that both gods can go to hell.]
And no. No way of leaving now, even if you try. Sorry.
