TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

There's honestly little she can do. With monster transformations, they were supposed to treat the patient afterwards, rather than during their changes. However, Tae's scared her grandson may die, and she opens a bottle in her bag. She tries to lift Aoba's head up.]
Drink this. It'll help a bit. Settle you down. [She looks at the bones again. She's tempted to slash the bulges herself. It would hurt like hell, but it would prevent accidental damage from skin tearing] Keep talking, Aoba.

His parched lips part slightly, but his breaths continue to be quick and shallow. Swallowing feels too big of an accomplishment, but he has to try. Will it numb the pain? Will the mystery fluid offer sweet oblivion? While he fights the urge to give in, Aoba knows his battle can only last so long before he loses to his internal injuries.)
Gran...ny. (His throat is as parched as his lips, and his voice comes out as the raspy croak so synonymous with the sick. Aoba has always been a creamy pale, but now his skin is as white as dried paper.) I didn't...know you were.... he... (It's hard, Granny. Why are you asking me to do something so impossible?)

It's supposed to numb the pain. He didn't need a lot, even a sip was considered too much, but considering how much pain he was in, Tae let him take the irresponsible dose. She helps it in and she holds him up. With her rampant emotions, some of the wires hanging from her arms spark a little, pricking both herself and Aoba.]
I've been here for a month. [Reassure her you're alive. Let her see the scope of your injuries. Keep talking. Do not die. Don't die.] Damn it. I should have known you were near. You should have looked harder. [Stupid grandson. Don't die. Just get through your transformation already.]

Granny really is amazing.)
It's okay, it's gonna go away. (Aoba isn't healed, and he doesn't feel good, but a ghost of a smile plays across his lips. Comparatively, he feels fine.)
I looked. (But he also didn't want to find. While searching for his miniature grandmother, his biggest hope was that she was safe at home. The mechanical limbs show she went through her own pain instead. Likely, alone.) 'm really... sorry, Granny. (For the worry, for the failure. He's normally not so hard on himself, but he's normally not growing nearly a foot in the span of half an hour.) When I get better, I'll... make it up to you...

It's fine. What kind of grandmother would I be if I didn't look after my blind grandson? Just make sure next time you search properly. [It's alright. He's there. She's there. They can look after each other. The ache in her metallic arms are mostly gone. It's you she worries about.]
Where are you staying? [They can't stay here in the road. Either he needs to get to the clinic or they're going to his place.]
