TEST DRIVE MEME

TEST DRIVE MEME: MAY

Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!

SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.

SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already some of the natives are trying to get on your good side with offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky, torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.

SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.

SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

See, that one makes no sense. Nothing in the water should have fur. It'd only weigh it down. Most ridiculous part of this whole thing.

[He's joking. It's both how he deals with the situation and a natural reaction. It also helps that he has his own old woman back at home that's important to him. He'd want someone to look after Mags, too.]

We're definitely not in 4. I didn't know any of the Districts had something like set up. It's like some kind of show.

[She rolls her eyes, being reminded incredibly of her grandson and his friends for a moment, and she shakes her head, as if exasperated.] Well you're not wrong, boy. At least not fur as thick as this pamphlet is making it out to be.

[But down to business.] Hmph... It's not at all like a show I've seen. Midorijima may have young people who indulge in such things, but I've never seen it before myself.

[With a blink, he pulls his head back in confusion. He's never heard the word before. Some kind of theater?]

Then it could be that this Midorijima place is behind it. District 4 doesn't have anything like this, even with the beaches. It's pretty impressive, managing to get me across District lines. Question is... can they undo it?
taedofthisshit: (what are you telling me?)

We're obviously from very different places, because no where in Midorijima has locations numbered over named. [Tae pauses, looking at the man, trying to make any sense of what he just said.]

Midorijima is my home. I'm surprised I'm able to be here as well, since the borders of the island are locked off from the outside world. I doubt anyone on the island including Platinum Jail could have brought us to... wherever this Bavan place is.

[Different places. The idea is too extreme for Finnick to really consider in any seriousness.]

An island? [That sounds a bit like his district, but she says none were numbered.] With a name that has nothing to do with a District? [His eyes furrow in the first honest emotion he'd shown since his arrival.] Such a place doesn't exist.
taedofthisshit: (tea and donuts)

Because it's probably far from where you're from. [His accent is anything but Japanese] A different location then. The island is called Midorijima. It's off the coast of Japan. And don't sound like everything I've said is fictional. I'm old, not delusional.
