TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[ A pretty weird thing to be told but there's no accounting for what can happen in the afterlife. He supposes, though, that this is more of a "Hell" than a "Heaven". ]
I should do that, shouldn't I. They hate you because of prejudice, is that it?
no subject
[ They could be kelpie friends. ]
I don't know what that means, but it's the same as back in my first world.
no subject
[ He’s a very funny colored horsie though. Is he a MLP? ]
Prejudice is when someone has a negative opinion about someone or something without knowing anything about that person or thing. [ To put is simply. ] People that do that can be found anywhere.
no subject
[ Ron wouldn't know, he hasn't really played with many. He certainly doesn't know the acronym. ]
That's exactly the same! Everyone hated me cuz I looked creepy and then the nuns throwed me out of the orphanage.
no subject
[ Unusual, because he's still new to this area that's got all these monsters, but not creepy. ]
They shouldn't have done that. I don't think that they're allowed to do that.
no subject
no subject
[ With Christians, no matter which kinds, that's generally the way it is. Mormons are different, he knows, but then the US laws gets in the way of that. And maybe there are other branches with supported (encouraged, even) polygamy as well. ]
And they are still not allowed to do anything they want. There are laws that even they have to follow.
no subject
[ At least he thinks he knows so. ]
That's okay, they already hated me before I turned a comrade anyway so they hated me more and said the devil likes me so they throwed me and Asou out.
no subject
[ Hawaii is a diverse place, but Christianity is not diverse in that way.
...wait, this child is a Comrade? As in, the Comrades that appeared in relation to the suicide virus? Or some other type of Comrade? ]
That's very mean of them, but you know, they still didn't have that right. Serving God is not an excuse to do something like that, they're supposed to protect you no matter what. If they do that, it's them that the devil will like, because the devil likes mean people.
no subject
[ Well, they're not so much married to God as much as they're committed to him, but to him that's the same thing.
D2 is most likely going to find that out soon. ]
But nuns don't lie, but but, I don't know, if they or Asou say it's okay, it is. Asou said it's okay to kill anyone that hurts you so it is, but daddy and nii-san doesn't like it, so I don't do it lots lots anymore, only when I'm hungry.
no subject
[ Except anyone can lie, even nuns.
And he is - or was - a soldier, he works - worked - with lots of people and being able to separate different faiths when you’re doing ground-work is pretty useful. ]
Nuns are people too, you know. A lot of people lie. Just because they’re nuns doesn’t mean they won’t. [ A child that kills…. The wrong influences? ] You should probably listen to you daddy and your nii-san. You shouldn't kill too easily, you know.
[ ….is it hypocritical of him to say that? Though he didn’t kill before becoming a soldier, and never outside of orders. Though he has no clue how many people he’s killed over the years, both as a normal soldier, as a sniper, and as a member of the Special Forces. ]
no subject
[ He was raised in one single place with one religion for five years after all.
And he'd definitely had the wrong kind of influence for a while. He hadn't killed anyone before becoming a comrade, but there had been a lot of pent up emotions from other kids being mean, nuns treating him like a demon child often enough, and not having any friends, so it had been an easy switch. ]
I do, I've killed lots less here. I wanna make them happy, I've never had a family before, I don't wanna make them sad.
no subject
[ D2 personally thinks that anyone could benefit from growing up around a diverse group of people, just as he had done. But all they can do for those who haven't is to teach them in the future, since they can't teach them in the past.
Conditioning children to kill in any way... He doesn't like that. But he has also killed a lot of child soldiers. Orders are orders, after all, even if you're not entirely comfortable with some of them. ]
That's nice of you, to want to make them happy. So do they become happier the less you kill?
no subject
[ D2... remember that there are no orders here, okay? Though maybe he would hesitate killing a comrade if he got to know them first. ]
Yeah. It makes daddy sad when I think it's really easy to kill.
no subject
[ Enough to be useful among catholic adults, at least.
And he knows that. He’s dead too, orders don’t apply any more. And he only killed comrades before because he was ordered to, he’s fascinated by comrades and would secretly like to get to know them, instead of killing the,. ]
Especially for a child, it’s sad.
no subject
[ Yes, he knows there's a shortage of cats in it. ]
Why's it sad especially for a child?
no subject
It’s sad because you’re still so young and someone so young shouldn’t have to see death, you should just play.
[ He’s not only speaking of Ron in this case. ]
no subject
I've seen lots of death. I'm a comrade because I didn't kill myself but a boy hanged himself at the orphanage.
1/2
The mention of someone hanging themselves in the course of that suicide virus (because he’s pretty sure that’s the case) makes him pause for longer than he intended. ]
no subject
I’m glad you didn’t kill yourself back then. Hopefully you’ll see less death from not on.
no subject
And surely he must have known some people hang themselves as a means of suicide? A lot of people killed themselves during that period of time, in many different methods. ]
Yeah, I wanted to but I didn't.
no subject
Of course he knows several people who killed themselves that time. So many people killed themselves back then. Everyone with a smile on their face. He’s seen a lot of creepy things over the years, but that’s one of the creepiest things he’s seen. ]
It’s great that you didn’t. And I’m sure your family thinks so too.
no subject
Did he see any children doing so? That is terrifying. ]
Yeah. Daddy's even helping me saving my coins to get my powers back!
no subject
That’s great. What powers do you have?
[ Comrades has a lot of different powers, he knows that. Hopefully the kid doesn't have powers of blowing people up with bubbles. (Is it weird that D2 would like to get to know that guy even though he killed him?) ]
no subject
[ He really sounds way too happy about that.
People don't really have the same abilities, at the very least Ron hasn't seen any with the same ones, so at the very least D2's hopes come true with no bubbles. ]
