TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

Weapons like that weren't really a thing where she came from. (Hand her some throwing spikes, however...] Oh-it did seem that way, I suppose... [She won't press about the tears, she decides. That would just make them angry, probably.]
I wasn't sneaking! I just happened to pass by and comment on something, that's all. [That's the same thing!!] ...I am sorry for surprising you though.
no subject
[She turns, arms crossing over her chest, to glare at the other girl.]
What do you want?
no subject
I don't want anything, really...I just noticed you were wiping your eyes, so it seemed good to ask what was wrong.
no subject
[And she's not going to elaborate on that further either. So good luck with future interactions with people in distress.
She moves away from the arcade machine, not wanting to have anything to do with it anymore.]
Do you live in here?
no subject
...Though... [There is a blink. And then a small smile.] It'll be rather difficult to know if I'm going to surprise someone in the first place. Most people don't expect someone new to greet them!
[She's probably deliberately messing with you at this point, Clem.]
Definitely not, [Espurr answers.] I just came in from one of those odd doors.
no subject
Same as me, then. Someone lives here, though. [Someone sick, judging by that one room she'd come across.] There's places to stay, or at least make yourself comfortable.
[Though she doesn't know why anyone would.]
no subject
[Espurr most people don't hear voices that's not normal-]
no subject
Voices you hear in your head aren't usually the best guides. At least I wouldn't think so.
[Yeah...]
But I guess everything here is nuts, so...
no subject
[Anyway. Not the point, she's sure.] ...It's definitely all different from what I'm used to at least...I don't know about 'nuts' though...
no subject
[Telepathy. Sure. Why not. They were surrounded by monsters in some place forgotten by time with a hidden arcade basement, so why not have some people who had telepathy? Or at least used to have telepathy.
This kid could just be messing with her. It would be easy to take advantage of how much of a mess this place is.]
Anyway, it's definitely "nuts". You can call it whatever you want, but that works for me.
[And she figures that says something, given where she came from.]
no subject
Nothing I've seen here is like where I came from. ...Even I'm not like where I came from...it's weird to not have fur, and it's really cold...
[Now she just sounds nuts, honestly.] ...So I've been trying to keep an open mind to all of it so far.
Some of it is pretty interesting when you think about it, actually! I've definitely never seen anything like these machines~!
no subject
So you're telepathic and you have fur?
[Clementine really does roll her eyes this time.]
Sounds... fun. Anyway these are just all old arcade machines. There's nothing special about them.
no subject
[There's plenty of other sorts of furry talking things you know.] I could say it's strange to think you looked like this wherever you came from too. No one's even seen a human being where I'm from.
[In any case, she stares at the consoles, and then back to Clementine.] ...These are old where you're from..? ...What would be 'new' then? If you say these aren't very special, I'd love to hear what 'special' is~!
no subject
[And she's right about the fur thing, as little as Clementine likes to think about it. The thought of turning into a monster still isn't sitting right with her at all. She doesn't know how it could sit right with anyone.]
I just mean... they were kinda common. That's all. They had newer stuff but I didn't really get to play with it.
[Because she was eight years old when zombies happened. Let's not talk about that.]
no subject
no subject
[She remembers them always being hard, but she'd been very young.]
You'd have to put in more coins to keep playing. Kind of a waste of money now that I think back on it.
no subject
...It's gambling? [...Not quite, but it might as well be, then.] ...Or more like a theater?
[She had fur, but she also had theaters?]
no subject
It's a game.
[That explains enough, right? She doesn't actually want to do a demonstration. It would just be embarrassing.]
no subject
However, she is also a very curious person...] You say that, but something tells me this is quite a few stretches from cards or tag...
If it's interactive theater though...you mean that you change the story as you go through then..?
[Not really much of a story to joust, Espurr...]
