TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
Megumi Shimizu | Shiki
[Hobbling across the sand on a pair of heels, Megumi finally makes it to civilization - if you can call it that. “Vandare” is a proper town, but it smells of fish and looks old, with people even less sophisticated than in Sotoba!
The flyers certainly don’t help her rotten mood. Did she really turn back into a lame human only to change again into some revolting creature gorging on raw flesh? When she was a vampire she at least had class.]
Ugh!
[Megumi crumples the pamphlets and throws them on the ground. Someone else can clean it up.]
This is the worst. Don’t we at least get to choose? I don’t want to turn into a bug.
THREE
[Megumi wanted nothing to do with the Fog followers at first. Dancing around a bonfire singing creepy hymns? Dressed in these robes? Please. She watched them from a distance in a mixture of nervousness and disdain, wanting nothing more than to find the exit… until they noticed her. Megumi recoiled, but they were so enthusiastic she eventually warmed up to them.
Now, sitting in a surprisingly comfortable wooden chair with one follower fanning her and another serving her a drink, she thinks how nice it is to be worshipped. She’s always dreamed of this; her dreams involved more stages and neon lights, but this isn’t bad either.]
You know, [She turns to the person in the chair next to hers] I could get used to this.

[She's new and unhappy with the situation. It's understandable. Littering is bad, but she's probably going through enough without a small lecture for a mostly harmless crime. He does bend over to retrieve it, mostly so he can have a look of what the information said. Light has long sense made his own packets.]
The idea probably isn't exciting in itself, but a lot of the pamphlets given out make it seem even worse than it actually is.
no subject
Hmph. [Light doesn't even get a thank you or an apology for cleaning after her.] Obviously, if the humans are the ones who wrote it.

He can sympathize with not wanting to be made monstrous, even if it just for aesthetics.]
Their intentions are usually good, but their knowledge is limited. [A frown of his own appears across his features.] Some are either pranks or jokes, though. I can give you more honest information if you'd like. I can also promise that you're not likely to become a bunnyipyip either.

[Disgust is laced into the last word. Megumi saw a minotaur earlier; the thought of turning into a something that looks like a freak accident in the village pastor is enough to make her shudder.
She tries to pull herself together, though. She definitely needs honest knowledge.]
But yeah, I'd like some real information. That's help a lot.
[This guy seems alright, she should get everything she can from him. In fact, Megumi realizes, she can do whatever she wants in this situation. The Kirishikis aren't here to tell her how to act, are they...]

I don't have the information with me, but if you're willing to take a little trip, I can get the materials. It can double as a tour of the city if you're still unfamiliar with the layout.
If it helps, I can introduce myself first. I'm Light Yagami.
no subject
Megumi Shimizu. A trip sounds good.
[Maybe the other parts of the town aren't such a dump.]
I just hope you don't plan to lead me somewhere to eat me, Yagami-san!
[It's part teasing but honestly, she's curious. She doesn't think he'll really eat her, but some of them might think otherwise. Megumi knows she wouldn't have a problem with that.]
no subject
Most of Vandare isn't in the best of condition, but Bavan is. In time, if she agrees, they'll get there; faerie rings are useful.]
I would give you my word I won't, but I doubt it's worth much yet. If it helps, I don't actually eat humans. [Only their energy.]
If you don't mind me asking, Shimizu-san, are you from Japan? You use honorifics, and they're rare here.
[Trusting she'll following, Light begins to lead her toward a distant building. It's the one that houses his current ring in Vandare.]
