Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note: The State of the Game Discussion produced a lot of great suggestions and we now have a post for Plot Suggestions and Monster Questions. The NETWORK VOTE results are in and PRIVATE MESSAGING will be added some time in November. Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look. You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely. Reserve and application dates have been announced. Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample! Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town. SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[Well the scream that Dipper suddenly lets out is probably the farthest from graceful, yet he can't help it. His arms windmill for a minute as he fights to keep his balance, staggering back a step or two.

For a second he just gasps, trying to catch his breath, until-]

M-Mabel!

Oh, Dipper -- you should have seen your face! You should have heard your voice!

[Mabel giggles as she reaches to poke at his face from where she's still swinging upside down.]

Boop, boop! What's the news, bro-bro?

I- wh- uh-

[Dipper's words come stilted as he tries to make sense of what he wants to say. Nevertheless, his relief over seeing his sister again is palpable.]

I was...trying to find the way out of this forest. And looking for you!

Where have you been?

Pfffffffffft~

[She blows a wet raspberry, rolling her eyes.]

You missed a classic adventure, prison escape style! There was this river, there was this weird hospital, there were oodles of weird people... totally up your alley, broski. Although... [She gives the trees around them a narrowed-eyed look for a moment, as if finally realizing something.] You don't seem to have missed the weirdo forest.

But yeah! [She punches him cheerfully on the shoulder, swaying slightly from her precarious perch on the branch.] I came looking for you, silly! I waited, like, ten whole minutes in that hospital for you or Grunkle Stan to show up. Where were you?

[Then she flails out her arms, eyes wide.]

Whoa. Head rush.

No no, I saw them! Or...well. Some of them. ...one of them.

[Dipper rubs the back of his neck, shaking his head.]

You must have left right before I woke up. I left the hospital and started looking for you, but I couldn't find you anywhere.

You're alright though, right? I don't...I don't remember what happened to us, but if we both ended up in the hospital...

[Mabel struggles on the branch for a moment before she swings off and down onto the ground, arms in the air like a gymnast and hair in tangles.]

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I feel fine! And you're okay, too, right? It's gunna take a lot more than a river to take us out, however that happened. [She taps a finger to her chin in thought, trying to remember just how the whole incident happened.] We must have been out doing something before that. I just don't remember what.

[Spooky forest, mysterious circumstances, a suspiciously empty spot in her memory... Mabel wasn't altogether too worried about it.]

But hey, at least we're together! [She grins and elbows him in the side, tilting her head toward him.] We'll figure it all out.

Yeah, you're right. I'm fine, just a bit, uh....overwhelmed by this place, I guess. There's just so much, but the priority now is getting out of this forest.

[He says, just as another round of giggling rings out in the darkness.]

You...wouldn't happen to remember which way you came in here, would you, Mabel?

[She snaps off a salute and grin instead of a response, and then spins around in circles while making airplane noises until stopping abruptly just as her legs started to wobble underneath her, pointing a finger directly in front.]

I came from that-a-way! Which means, if we want to exit, we gooooo~ this-a-way!

[At that declaration, she raises her opposite arm and points ninety degrees from the first direction.]

Okay, let's hurry then. I've really lost track of how long I've been here, and it's probably going to start getting dark soon.

[He frowns, looking up at the canopy of trees above their heads.]

And the sooner we get back to town so we can talk about all of this, the better.
