TEST DRIVE MEME

Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note: The State of the Game Discussion produced a lot of great suggestions and we now have a post for Plot Suggestions and Monster Questions. The NETWORK VOTE results are in and PRIVATE MESSAGING will be added some time in November. Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look. You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely. Reserve and application dates have been announced. Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample! Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town. SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

That's still no excuse for not paying close attention to your surroundings.

[Rise lets out an exasperated sigh as she hugs her shoulders, rather creeped out by the fact that not only they're lost, they're lost with something rather ominous. It's times like these where she wishes she had her Persona.]

If there's a way in, there's gotta be a way out. I mean, why wouldn't there be? This isn't like the TV world.

[ressentimental]

[ He might have made a scathing remark right back about how Rise herself hadn't been paying much attention either, but, deeming it a pointless argument, he opts to let it go. Instead, Yosuke focuses on their exit strategy. ]

Yeah, but there wasn't a way out of the TV world either until Teddie helped us out. And something tells me any bear we'll find here won't be that friendly... or stupid.

[risetting]

Well, not unless you count any of the people who are turning into bears.

[But he's right -- they need to get out and quick, before someone shows up, hungry. Thankfully, the fog isn't setting in today, so they won't accidentally change while stuck in the forest, which is somewhat of a relief.]

But maybe we'll get lucky! . . . We should probably start by prooobably trying to retrace our footsteps.

[ressentimental]

Yeah, I don't really want to think about that right now. [ It's bad enough that he's lost in the woods without having to worry about monster people roaming around. ]

Okay, let's retrace our steps... [ It seems like a simple enough solution, and focusing on an objective gives him the opportunity to clear his head; however, as Yosuke takes a quick glance at his surroundings, he realizes something: ]

...Uh. I have no idea which way I came from.

[risetting]

Yeah, it wouldn't be good to think about that too hard. . . [Otherwise they'd be having big problems right about now. But she takes a quick glance around her, realizing the same thing Yosuke has.]

. . . Seriously? [She rolls her eyes in dismay, conflicted by the situation.] Maybe we should just try going this way?

[By 'this way', she points at a random direction. But first--]

Though maybe we should try leaving something as a trail... What do you think, senpai?

[ressentimental]

Oh, hey, that's a pretty good idea. [ He means it, and doesn't really know why he hadn't thought of that before. Yosuke rummages through his pockets intently, hoping to find something that could be used as makeshift breadcrumbs. He finally pulls a small, completely crushed bag of chips out of his pocket. To be honest, he's not entirely sure how long it's been there. ]

Man, and I was hoping to eat these later... [ Which, of course, doesn't matter at this point. He shakes it off. ] You think this'll work?

[risetting]

[She flashes a huge thumbs up with sheer confidence; at least this is something she's rather confident in. Even though the chip bag might be old -- at least, that's what it looks like to her, she doesn't really care all that much. They're not using it to eat, after all.]

I think so. As long as nobody accidentally steps on it or eats it, we should be fine, senpai. So let's try going that way, then. If we reach a dead end, we can just cross it off, go back, and try it again.
