TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:


Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town.

SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together.

SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[The sound of her approach and the words that come from her mouth all echo in his head. He turns to look at her, the whole world swaying and spinning, her form seeming distant and wobbly. It takes him a long moment to actually comprehend what she's saying, eyes unfocused and breath shallow.]

Water... [He croaks out his response, voice weak and tired.] Antibiotics... Something for this damned fever...

Do you need help walking? I can lend you my shoulder. Should I take you to the hospital...?

[If he didn't want to go to the hospital, she wasn't sure where to take him, but she figured that a local would be polite enough to point them somewhere. Water was usually free, right? Though the antibiotics might be a problem, considering she had no money, and she figured he wouldn't either if he was new like her. Well, one problem at a time, Shiki!]

[Artemiy considers her offer for a moment. He isn't sure how much longer he has before this disease gets out of hand, takes over his body entirely and becomes contagious. He would never risk a young girl's life just to save his own. But he really can't be walking on his own...

He doesn't want to go back to the hospital, but he's run out of options at this point. They're going to find out about his disease, but without antibiotics, he's as good as dead. If there's anything the past 12 days have taught him, it's that surviving takes priority over possible future inconveniences...]

The hospital... I have no other choice. It... should be safe to aid me, for now. But if the delirium sets in, if the pain proves so great that my mind becomes unhinged, you need to leave me. In the street, if you must. Do you understand me?

[Shiki nods, expression serious but a tinge concerned, both for her sake and his. It seemed a bit risky to be helping him, but she was never one to leave someone unaided when they really needed help. Plus, he seemed to take her safety into account, and she could definitely outrun him in his current state if he were to become "unhinged"...
