Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note: The State of the Game Discussion produced a lot of great suggestions and we now have a post for Plot Suggestions and Monster Questions. The NETWORK VOTE results are in and PRIVATE MESSAGING will be added some time in November. Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look. You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely. Reserve and application dates have been announced. Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample! Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town. SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[And now Yosuke is trapped here as well. She hopes that they find something to stop the changes from happening and perhaps he would be spared from all of this. She could hope.]

At least it's not foggy here. And one of the towns here isn't the best for anyone.

[If he notices, she isn't moving from her spot and according to her, for a good reason.]

True, so I guess that means we're probably not in the TV, right? [ Though he probably could have ruled that out sooner; the despair that had dropped into his gut upon arrival feels very distinctive, not like anything he ever felt in the TV. ]

The towns...? Why not? [ He seems confused that she would bring that up, not entirely sure what she's referring to. And come to think of it, why is she hiding behind that tree? Yosuke takes a step closer. ]

Uh... Yukiko? Are you okay?

[And when he steps towards her, she steps away.]

I-I'm alright.

[Not when her voice breaks slightly, something starting to poke itself through her shadow.]

[ Okay, there is something seriously wrong here. He peers at her with no small degree of concern. ]

Uh... are you sure? Why are you hiding back there?

[ Was it something I said? is the subtext here. Hey, at least he's not peeing this time. ]

...you may not like what you see.

[She certainly doesn't and this isn't the way to welcome someone to this world. If she didn't have her...extra appendages things would be different.]

[ He's beyond confused. Since when has Yukiko been so self-conscious about her appearance? Yosuke offers her a reassuring smile. ]

Hey, you don't have to be like that! There's nothing wrong with the way you look. It's not an accident that so many dudes want to try the 'Amagi Challenge', you know.

[ Here he is being......... helpful. In the only way he knows how. ]

[It's quiet but slowly, she moves from the tree for the Magician to take a good look at why she said those things. Those 'things' poking from behind her? Are wings. There were a few other changes such as longer fingernails and pointy ears but the wings were more of an obvious eyesore. Didn't it remind them or something back home? Yukiko thought so.]

H-Holy shit! [ It's the only thing Yosuke can muster after seeing that. He gapes at her openly, before realizing how much he's staring and grinning sheepishly. ]

I gotta admit, Yukiko... you look badass! [ Maybe or maybe not the reaction she was expecting? ] What happened to you?

[All the bird features make her more self-conscious and worry. So that is a surprise for Yosuke to say and it shows by her feathers getting a little ruffled. NOT BADASS.]

I-I don't look like that! It's not a good thing!

[She feels like running but this is Yosuke and despite his buttmonkey status, she can't leave him here.]

This place is called Ryslig and we're in Lager Woods near by Vandere. Everyone who comes here ends up...changing.

Ryslig...? I've never heard of that before. Man, I should have paid more attention in geography-- [ He stops short at that last part, suddenly feeling that dread again, the kind that has been nagging at the back of his mind since he got here. ]

Changing, huh. [ He's not sure if he wants to ask, but here it goes anyway: ] What exactly are we supposed to be changing into?

It's not from home. We're...in a different world.

[She's trying to explain but she isn't Yu so it's not the best.]

It's Yu-kun, Kanji-kun, Naoto-kun and myself here. And it varies between us the changes. Yu-kun is some kind of cat creature for example.

[ That news shouldn't be surprising, given that Yosuke has seen other worlds first hand. Still, he's a little dumbfounded. ]

A cat, huh? That's funny, you would have thought that a guy like him would get something a little more... I don't know-- cool. [ Though Yosuke is thinking more "house cat" and less "wild cat". ]

So what are Kanji and Naoto then?

I think Naoto-kun is like a dragon and Kanji-kun like a bull. But that's not the concern here!

[Mainly two of them but she'll tell him about Adachi after.]

You're here and you woke up with scratches all over, right?

Yeah, in some kind of hospital. They were feeding me a line about being found in the water somewhere.

[ He peers absently at the injuries dotting his arms, wondering what could have done that-- at first, he had thought it was just a side effect of being washed up in the shallow waters of some unknown sea, but something about it doesn't feel right. His stomach clenches uncomfortably just thinking about it. ]

Hey... did this happen to you, too?

[She nods solemnly.]

I guess that's something the Fog God does but if someone has those marks, they change. But we can talk more once we get out of the woods and into town. Vandare does have decent people living there and don't mind us despite our looks.
