TEST DRIVE MEME
TEST DRIVE MEME | ||
Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:
Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town. |

Still no food, but all the better, really. As hungry as he is, Dipper isn't all that keen on resorting to cannibalism any time soon, though the small rabbits he's been managing to catch haven't really satiated his hunger at all.
He edges a bit closer, ears flat against his head as he watches the bear, wondering what he might do. Unfortunately, it's still taking him some time to get used to the long antlers protruding from the top of his head, both of which are probably clearly visible to Teddie as they shift above the top of the bushes with his movements.]

...And yet, he can't bring himself to move or get angry, slowly bringing his arms back down as fast as he lifted them. Teddie's tired. And hungry. And now he has smelly people watching him. Great. Pulling up his knees as best he can against his new bear bulk, he lets out the most pathetic, if not growly, sigh.]
I'm not gonna hurt you...
[Not that he's sure this other thing can say the same. If Teddie weren't so tired, he might act a little more frightened to reflect how he's feeling inside. The truth is he's terrified, and if anyone can see well in this darkness, they'd see a big bear shaking.]

Dipper takes another step forwards, pushing himself out a bit into the open. He stands with his body low to the ground, mouth hanging half open due to the long fangs in his mouth making it hard to keep it shut. In the dim light, even though most of his body is still obscured, his face can still be mostly made out.
Past the antlers, ears, fangs, and animal-like nose, he's a boy. Under all of that mess living in a body that wasn't living as much as he'd like for it to.]

As Dipper gets closer, he finds himself flinching. The smell...it was like getting punched in the nose. Teddie almost felt sorry for this guy, if he couldn't stand it for the time being, he can only imagine what it's like to live with it.
As his head peeks up and he studies his new companion, Teddie finds himself perking up. Just like that, it's like he's forgotten that he's a horrible monster right now.]
You're... You're Bambi!!
[Is it possible for a bear to get excited like a five-year-old? Because that's exactly what's going on right now. Teddie never was a good monster.]
no subject
Nnngh...no....I'm...I'm sorry...
[He manages in a low voice, shaking his head again as he finally gets back up to his feet.]
no subject
You okay there?
[At least Dipper isn't alone when it comes to the growling, Teddie can't control it at all in his voice. Combined with his friendly tone, it continues to add to his "worst monster ever" appearance.]
I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to spook you.
no subject
..I'm...I'm just passing through.
[He says next, looking back up at Teddie. His tone seems friendly enough, but one still can't be too sure...]
no subject
Get outta town! We're you heading to?
[If this guy is "just passing through", then he must have a destination. If there's a place that'll let someone like Bambi hang out, then Teddie could stay for sure! ...Right? It was worth a shot anyway, Teddie just wants a safe space to cry hide.]
no subject
[He says quietly, glancing away. Back to those old, abandoned houses...it's the only place he's been able to find to go that was secluded that wasn't the forest.]
no subject
You don't suppose you ever considered a travelling buddy, bearhaps~?
[Wink wink, nudge nudge. He'll even put up with his horrible stench.]
no subject
[He's still a bit leery of Teddie, that much is evident by the look on his face as he glances up at him again nervously, his hulking bear-ness towering over him. Though Dipper's a monster arguably as formidable as he, that doesn't mean the attitude has fully taken hold yet.]
....how can know I can trust you?
no subject
Falling on his rear, the giant hulking bear monster that is Teddie...begins to cry.]
GAH!! O-oh no, y-you're riiiiight!! I can't bearlieve I didn't see it sooner, just go! GO! Leave me and my horribleness by my lonesome, I won't scare you anymore!!
no subject
...oh. Oh no. That....that's not what he meant to do at all.]
Wh- ...huh?
[Dipper blinks, his ears falling back as he crouches down slightly, wincing as Teddie really starts to cry.]
No....no I...I'm not scared of you...that much...I just need to be sure you aren't going to...you know, attack me or something while my back is turned...
no subject
[He rubs his eyes with his big bear arm as he tries to stop himself from crying. Such a pathetic mess, this guy is supposed to be a monster.]
Just tell me where to go.
no subject
[Dipper straightens up again, his ears turning this way and that to listen for anything around them. For now, they seem to be alone.
Then, he points a claw over to the west, through a thicket of trees.]
That way.
