Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note: The State of the Game Discussion produced a lot of great suggestions and we now have a post for Plot Suggestions and Monster Questions. The NETWORK VOTE results are in and PRIVATE MESSAGING will be added some time in November. Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look. You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely. Reserve and application dates have been announced. Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample! Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town. SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[It's probably a good thing that she's pretty damn determined to find out what's going on. Not everyone is being helpful, as Eren is finding as well, and he's struggling to ask around without drawing attention to himself. He's already getting colder now the night is drawing in, but is making no move to let it show. Instead he looks back when he feels her hand touching his shoulder, ready to attack if necessary, but her smile instantly brings a look of relief to his face.

It doesn't seem to be anyone after him, or anyone crazy. Hopefully.]

Uh-- [Though she was in the same boat as him, and that wasn't going to help anyone. His eyes drift to the side, taking in where they are.] I probably know the area a bit by now, but it won't help much without money for an inn.

[Though that's not exactly what she's asking, is it...?]

[His awkward way of talking actually makes her laugh somewhat, even in this strange place. In fact, it brings relief as she finally calms down, continuing to smile brightly from ear to ear as she takes a quick step back to give him some space.]

Really? Then, can you help me out? I'm pretty lost, after all, so I don't know my way around...

[As for the inn, though--]

And it's okay, I can probably find a quick way to earn money, easy~

[It's only awkward because he's still a bit overwhelmed at the moment, and he can't find anyone who has the answers either. It doesn't mean he's given up in the slightest, just that surely two people are better than one, right? Especially if they're not really freaking out.]

Just a bit. This place is different, but the people are just as unhelpful.

[And really, considering she tapped him on the shoulder--] You already tried the townspeople, right?

[He doesn't really have the time to be a tour guide, but if they can work this out to help both of them, it might be worth it.]

How will you do it? [Because that sounds fucking suspicious, Rise...]

[Clearly, Rise is freaking out internally. But she's good at not making things like that show up on her face, especially in a situation such as this. Instead, she just remains, calm, her expression softening.]

People aren't usually this unhelpful, honestly... Which is why it's weird.

[She brings her hand up to her cheek, mulling things over in her head for a bit before saying something.]

Well, to get money means you need connections, right? And there are plenty of people who hold impromptu concerts to get the cash they need.

They're not? People are usually out for themselves, especially if the situation's pretty bad. [Definitely speaking from experience there It's weird though really,, where he's from concerts aren't really a thing unless you're royalty, and Eren definitely isn't royalty in the slightest..]

Concerts?

Not everyone's like that.

[She's speaking from her own experience as well. She does nod in response, though.]

And yeah, concerts! I can hold one and pay people to watch. Usually I wouldn't do this, but you know what they say-- "desperate times call for desperate measures".

Not everyone, but enough people are. [Which is why it's important to watch out for those that can't protect themselves in the end!]

Where? I guess there's probably an outdoor park somewhere you could try.

. . . Mm.

[She won't say anything more on the topic, instead just simply moving on to the next.]

I was thinking anywhere that's spacious enough for singing and dancing. If there's an outdoor park, then that would be the best location.

Is there a park? [Well, it might be different than what he's used to, but it seems like a reasonable enough decision.] We might have to look by ourselves.

That's fine by me. I need to find out where things are, anyway.

[Rise are you really just going to wander off with a guy you just met...? He frowns at her for a moment, then decides that it shouldn't matter so much. Really she's probably lucky that it's him and not some fucking creeper that she walked up to.]

Let's go then.

[He turns his gaze away, heading in a direction he'd been earlier. He didn't remember seeing a park, per se, but maybe an open enough space for what she needs.]

[It's not as if she's not keeping an eye on him -- because honestly, she is. But suspicions are low since he seems like a nice enough guy and if he wanted to try something, he wouldn't lead her to a wide open space where lots of people could see them. That's just stupid.]

Right.

[Hopefully they're lucky to find that space. And maybe even luckier that nobody's occupying it.]

[At least she's logical about it and isn't panicking, but the fact that she's willingly following him concerns him just a little. Then again, he's under the impression that if Historia can learn how to fight (albeit not as well as some others, but still... she was in the top 10 of his group) then surely this girl can too. Maybe she's not as harmless as she looks.]

It should be this way.

[Thankfully his sense of direction isn't terrible, otherwise they'd be going in circles. Sure, he's used to following others than choosing his own path, but when he is leading on it's all okay.]
