Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note: The State of the Game Discussion produced a lot of great suggestions and we now have a post for Plot Suggestions and Monster Questions. You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely. Reserve and application dates have been announced. Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample! Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town. SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[There's nothing wrong with a little earnestness in a situation like this, and Kurama is trying to seek information anyway. He smiles genially at the man, then shakes his head in answer to the first question.]

Afraid not, I'm a new arrival. Not by choice, that's for certain.

[He takes Roy's hand, shaking it firmly. It affords him a moment to decide how he wishes to introduce himself here. He supposes...given the situation and how far they seemed to be displaced from their homes at current, it could not hurt to drop his human facade. Different place, different name.]

Kurama. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir. You seem to be standing out a bit in the uniform, are you local military, or are we in a similar situation?

[Roy gives a slight nod. He did figure that the redhead was as completely new arrival to this place as he was, but it didn't hurt to ask.

The firm grip in the handshake is returned with an equally firm and confident grip.]

[Strangely enough, there's almost surprise at the inquiry about his uniform - it's one of those things that would have been instantly recognized back in Amestris, and the idea of people asking about it was almost unexpected at this point.]

This is the Amestrian state military uniform. That said, we do seem to be in a similar predicament.

Do you have any idea how long you've been here?

I don't know exactly how long I've been here, no. I am a recent arrival though. It was quite kind of the locals here to treat my injuries.

[That's about the long and short though. Now they're being...a little less kind and open.]

You must forgive me for being unfamiliar with your military, by the way. The location is also unfamiliar.
