Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note: The State of the Game Discussion produced a lot of great suggestions and we now have a post for Plot Suggestions and Monster Questions. The NETWORK VOTE results are in and PRIVATE MESSAGING will be added some time in November. Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look. You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely. Reserve and application dates have been announced. Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample! Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town. SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[Having already come to terms with his changes, which to be honest, were probably only the start of things, Kurama was now exploring through the nearest place, checking to see if anyone else had gone through any strange or grotesque transformations like he had. While traveling, he noticed that the catlike paw mutation he had suffered to his hands had also occurred to his feet without his notice. Likely the pain had all melded together.

Once he was rid of the shoes and socks, it actually made for great running, and he appreciated the balance his bottlebrush tail afforded him.

He didn't have to go far to find another victim of the strange goings-on. And it wasn't as if it were easy for the guy to hide his changes. His very big, feathery changes.]

So, it appears I'm far from the only one suffering from odd mutations--oh dear...

[Yikes. Fellow didn't really have his bearings yet, did he. Kurama moves forward, offering the blond a hand. Do not fear the cat-eared/semi-pawed/tailed teen with the silver hair and the pointy teeth. He will not bite.]

Shall we move from the street, sir? Perhaps there's some way I can assist you...

{ooc: I've never really noticed the resemblance tbh. Flynn's way buffer than Guy anyway haha.}

[Flynn is thankful for the help, really, but it takes him a moment to answer Kurama. Slowly, he figures out how to fold his wings and lets them relax against his back a minute before finally looking up at the other.]

[Since arriving here, he's noticed others with their strange changes but... he hadn't thought he'd have any himself. Kurama doesn't scare him, so he takes his hand and tries to get up. Luckily for the both of them, most of Flynn's bulk has been cut by his bones hollowing, and it should be easy to keep him balancing. Which will be needed, because Flynn can't stand up straight quite yet.]

Ah--! A-ah, I'm sorry, my balance is...!

That's quite alright, if you experienced anything like I did, you are perfectly justified to be a little out of your element.

[Kurama offers Flynn an encouraging smile as he attempts to balance, helping him to do so by supporting him at the arm. He notices that the other is indeed lighter than his stature would lead one to believe, and it gets him to thinking, as most things usually do.]

Pardon me for asking, but have you had any pain in your joints recently? Before the wings...?

Pain? [He skips right to that question, not lingering on his reassurance. Flynn isn't the type to stay hung up on that, especially in a situation like this. The other is... also changing, and therefore he trusts Kurama.]

Yes... there was pain. A lot of my bones broke, I think.

I see. Then your changes are more extensive than just the wings, I'd imagine. It's just a guess, but...flying creatures usually have hollow skeletal structures, in order to substantiate flight more easily. Lighter bones, less to hold up in the air.

[As he speaks, he begins to slowly move away from the street. He keeps it at Flynn's pace of course, not moving if the other is not secure in his footing.]

Your body is adapting, slowly. The question now is when did all this start happening to us, and why?

They were becoming hollow? I don't understand any of this.

[Flynn sighs, moving along slowly beside Kurama, hoping his wings will listen to him and stay put.]

I don't know about that. There were others here before me, changing. It was a long time for me, so I didn't even think I would be affected by it...

It is only conjecture, but to be honest, none of this makes sense. I'm not exactly used to parading about with ears and tail.

[Well....not this long a tail. It feels odd. And in general, he's not used to being in any alternate form with such severe initial pain and no explanation.]

But while we're on the subject, have you asked any of those "others" exactly what happened to them, and the period of time it took for them to start experiencing any ill effects? Maybe it's something we contract from our...journey here.
