TEST DRIVE MEME

TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:

Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town.

SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together.

SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

Something about that tone makes Thrust stand up straighter, even if he's not a hundred percent used to this body's balance system yet. He's been Megatron's general his whole life, and you don't slouch through a tone that promises electrocution, fire, and/or slag assignments in retribution, in his experience.

Of course, it's after he's automatically standing tall and focused on Cersei that the words actually penetrate. "'M a stranger here myself," he admits. "Was gonna work on basic intel before the power structure."

She peers at him silently while he speaks; if nothing else, he is attentive. And that is the best Cersei can say for him, as he appears to know no more than she does. "I see." His manner of speech is odd, but she could still glean his meaning.

And that strikes her as very strange, because if he doesn't understand the 'power structure' either... "You say you have no knowledge of this place? Who are you?" She can see obvious value in kidnapping her (kidnapping is what she's beginning to lean towards), but someone like this?

If Cersei didn't have that high-echelon-in-the-command-structure feel, Thrust would probably just offer his name. Instead, she's got him either feeling formal or feeling obligated to identify himself properly (he doesn't examine which too closely), so Cersei gets titles.

"Thrust," he tells her, "Vehicon cycledrone general. You?"

Thrust...Thrust? As an assassin does with a blade, into a man's heart.

Surely it's a sellsword's assumed name, she nearly has time to think, before he continues with...she hasn't the slightest idea what. And her expression will no doubt betray her incredulity, but she isn't disarmed to the point of being unable to answer him. "I am Queen-Regent of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros." As if he should know simply by looking at her. "Cersei Lannister."

He's more of a 'point blank range' kind of mechanism, but that's mostly a matter of style. At least he got 'general' in there.

And at least he knows what both 'queen' and 'regent' mean, and is now 100% less likely to misgender Cersei. If he doesn't actually bow and his eyes don't quite leave her, at least the deep nod of the head is an obvious gesture of respect. "Majesty."

He's no diplomat, but for him 'regent' implies somebody who successfully inserted themselves into the chain of command totally out of order and took over in all but name, without actually having to kill the next person in line for the top spot. He's impressed.
