TEST DRIVE MEME

Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note: The State of the Game Discussion produced a lot of great suggestions and we now have a post for Plot Suggestions and Monster Questions. The NETWORK VOTE results are in and PRIVATE MESSAGING will be added some time in November. Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look. You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely. Reserve and application dates have been announced. Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample! Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town. SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

This place--did something, and-- [Lithuania steps out into the moonlight carefully, revealing what he specifically means by "odd". The tendrils, at least, are mostly covered by his shirt, although the bottoms peak out at the bottom of the shirt. His skin is bright green.]

[England takes a few urgent steps back when Lithuania comes into view, shock on his face and his arm raising in reflex to prepare to attack or defend, despite being out of range.] Good lord!

You— you're a plant. [His reaction probably gives Lithuania a ballpark on how long he's been here. Not long enough to have personally run in to many monsters.]

[Lithuania holds up his hands to indicate he's not carrying anything. The response is easily enough to peg England as new to the peninsula, of course.]

A little bit? Everyone's been turning into different--creatures. I know the way out of the forest, and you look a little lost, so I thought I'd offer to help.

[keepscalm]

[England keeps his makeshift club raised slightly as he scrutinises Lithuania and his new...appendages. The ones coming off his back look like something England has seen in Australia, but he can't put a name to the bizarre-looking things.

He narrows his eyes and frowns, still obviously wary of the other nation's claims.] Tell me something Lithuania would know. Who's your boss?

Dalia Grybauskaitė is my president and Algirdas Butkevičius is my prime minister. [He might as well be thorough about assuaging England's apparent concerns about weird plant doppelgangers. He can't blame England for this sort of worry, considering how Lithuania knows he looks right now.]

[keepscalm]

[England absorbs Lithuania's answer for a few seconds. Then, slowly, he relaxes his defensive stance and lets his hands fall back to his sides, his expression sceptical but his face slightly turned away from Lithuania, slightly sheepish at apparently having been found by the real Lithuania.] ...all right.

I'm not lost, mind you. It's just better to have a companion for this kind of exploration. [He is definitely lost, and that is his way of agreeing to let Lithuania lead him out.]
