TEST DRIVE MEME

TEST DRIVE MEME: SEPTEMBER

Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!

SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.

SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.

SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.

SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

Ayumu was equally stuck. He couldn't look away, and he was actually annoyed by his camera not working after the impromptu bath he had been given when arriving here, so there was no way for him to take any pictures of it. The film wasn't the only thing in it that was ruined.

Still keeping his eyes on the whole event, he leaned to the side to talk to her. "Um, 'scuse me but, wha' the-- uh, wha's goin' on?"

Grace was so caught up in the sight that she didn't notice the guy next to her. She jumped suddenly when he spoke, jarring her out of her trance.

"Whoa! Oh, God, I didn't see you there." She exclaimed, trying to peel her eyes away from the sight. "It's a ritual. It has to be. But if they start dragging out chickens and goats, then I'm leaving."

At least, that's what she wants to do. Whether or not she'll be able to tear herself away is still up in the air.

He couldn't hold it against her that she hadn't noticed him. He was after all, really short. 162 cm wasn't much next to all the much taller men at Gokurakuen.

"Wha' kinda ritual would this even be? Is like outta some history movie or somethin." He kept staring at it all, but managed to glance at her long enough to see who he was actually talking to before looking back. "Chickens an' goats are real?"

"I've seen something like this before," She's been part of it before, but she doesn't mention that. "It's like... a celebration, praising their gods. Or they could be summoning something."

The second question is enough to break her out of her stupor entirely. "Yes? You've never seen livestock before?"

"Iiiii'm gon hope they're not summonin anythin." Because that sounds entirely too creepy and something he doesn't want happening.

"Of course I haven', they're extinct." As are plants, which is why he freaked out majorly when he first arrived here and saw the horrifying sight of trees.
me_underfire: (What!?)

Grace isn't sure what's stranger- the ritual she's witnessing or the guy who claims common livestock is extinct. She'd manage to work out that people were teleported here for the lack of a better term, but she was certain they were all from the same general time and place she was.

"What year is it where you came from?" If time travel is involved here...

To him, all of this is strange. Animals? Plants? The food? It's all so weird he's not quite sure what to do with himself most of the time, and he's not sure he'll get used to the bizarre sight of flowers.

"Year 252 mc." That might not say so much. But it's the future. "We don't have plants either. Aside from the Shinigami flower..."
me_underfire: (Oh no...)

[personal profile] me_underfire 2016-09-27 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
That's not even a real year, she wants to say, but she's quickly learning that nearly anything is possible here. She's never even heard of a Shinigami flower. This place is making her life until now seem mundane.

"It was 1998 the last time I checked." She gasps. "They can pull people from different times, too. This is bigger than I thought. A lot bigger."
