TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
2; BURSTS THROUGH DOOR, hope you don't mind action
Not a nice place to be if you're a monster, really, but at least the pro-monster folks seem to be helping the newbies out as they do.
But there's always the chance that a classmate could show up, so they have to be ready for that situation. At least one of them should be down here scoping for familiar faces, right?
And that would be why Sonia's going to hear her name being called, but it's from someone a little more, uh... bovine than she might remember.
Mahiru's even waving a bit as she trots up, smiling around those annoying tusks of hers.]
-- Sonia-chan!
[Uh, wait. She's a monster, right... that's probably a disconcerting thing to have just hurrying up to you, familiar or not. So Mahiru slows to a stop a couple feet away, looking a little sheepish.]
Ah, you've... met the locals, huh? They like to shove things in peoples' arms when they first show up. I guess even a princess can't avoid something like that.
not a problem! is everyone using the oren translation/honorifics?
K-Koizumi-san?
[ At least, that's who it sounded like. It looked a lot like her as well, minus the obvious differences. She was extremely surprised and caught off guard by her sudden appearance, but if she was terrified at all, she made no notice of it. After all, it wouldn't be good for Mahiru to see that she was scared. ]
Ah... y-yes, I have. I am actually quite used to having been given a lot of things by people, but this... this is something actually quite welcome. At least this way I have some information, regardless of whether it's fact or legend.
[ She pauses, unsure of how to proceed, before just forcing herself to keep talking. ]
So you are in this mess as well, then?
personally i just follow what's used in the jp version, so gundam mun's gonna pm you about that!
[It's meant to be reassuring, but of course it wouldn't be surprising to anyone if it didn't come off that way.
Mahiru doesn't really know if she frightened Sonia or not, though - after all, Sonia's always kind of a rock in hard times, right? Hard to really shake up, as far as Mahiru's aware.
But knowing that she's turned into a big, hulking Minotaur... she's gotten pretty used to apologizing for that sort of thing, just to be polite.]
You should probably know, though; a lot of those pamphlets are fakes.
Stuff like a "fur covered fish", or whatever... you don't really need to put a lot of stock in them.
ye they messaged me last night. thank you!! (*´∀`*)
[ She smiles, giving Mahiru an earnest smile. Lying probably wasn't going to probably do much good here, for the time being. It was probably a common reaction, anyway. ]
Are they? [ She flips through the pamphlets again, finding the one mentioning the furry fish (an interesting concept, now that she thought of it. Not necessarily scary, though). ] I would figure it's good to stockpile the information all the same; sometimes there are nuggets of truth hidden in the lies, if you just turn it around!
[ Not that those references actually meant anything here. Her classmate obviously knew a lot more about this than she did so... perhaps it was better to trust her rather than try and sleuth on her own. ]
