TEST DRIVE MEME

TEST DRIVE MEME: SEPTEMBER

Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!

SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.

SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.

SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.

SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[ the notion that the creatures floating around, so to speak, are more helpful than the humans is just...laughable, frankly. Draco looks sceptical and incredulous at that, and perhaps a bit horrified. ]

A war? No, thank you.

[ he won't even address the rest. ] I'm done with wars. I'm leaving.
noasark: (WHO MEEEEEEEE?)

'it's for war' is one of my fave things about running a god-devout tbh...

[personal profile] noasark 2016-09-19 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Hah! Good luck with that one; your options are staying neutral here or joining, [the boy scoffs.] Believe me though, you wouldn't be the only one to try some third option already.

It tends to fall flat when your captor knows how to cheat death on your behalf.

[Be horrified all you want, Draco-but you're stuck, like it or not.]
alphaophiuchi: (rageface)

amazing~

[personal profile] alphaophiuchi 2016-09-19 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Draco's hand automatically goes to the pocket where his wand would normally be; he falters after a moment, realising that he doesn't have it on him, and hopes to save face by simply planting his hands on his hips. ]

None of this makes any sense. It's not even possible, I'll have you know. No one can cheat death. And no one can force me to choose a side.
noasark: (Well that didn't work)

it's so much more fun than 'TO TURN U INTO MONSTERS' I find

[personal profile] noasark 2016-09-19 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Wrong, on all accounts, except the latter! [he starts, holding a few fingers out as he counts them down.] It does make sense, if you actually bother thinking about it and looking into the surrounding information...

She can cheat death, and has revived a number of 'monsters' from the grave more times than I can count here-an advantage you have yourself, if you care to test that with anyone... [The snake's tail rattles somewhat, but he says nothing more on that note.]

However, as I just noted...you could just remain neutral. That is your choice at least.
alphaophiuchi: (trying not to hear)

and much more real a threat!

[ silence simply reigns for a moment, as Draco tries to consider it all. He doesn't want to do so, nor does he have any inclination to appreciate the possibility of becoming one of those things, but he supposes that he has to.

[ maybe somewhere else, though. He's got an answer or two, though it doesn't tell him anything about what he's meant to be doing in the interim, but somehow, he's not sure that this one is going to be inclined to give him much. Not that's helpful, at least. ]

That's exactly what I'm going to do, then. Good day to you.

[ it is...decidedly the worst plan, Draco's sure, but he turns on his heel in the sand, the movement less graceful than he intends it to be, and tries to stalk off towards....something. He has no idea which way he's going. At all. ]
noasark: (someone kill me again)

it really is, yeah

[personal profile] noasark 2016-09-19 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hmmm. If he wasn't sure this could get abundantly 'worse', he'd laugh now. But as it is, the boy merely observes. There goes Draco, yes...

Now he'll count three, two, one...
] And just how do you plan to do that, then?
alphaophiuchi: (walls are cool)

ehehe

[personal profile] alphaophiuchi 2016-09-24 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'll walk! [ it's called over his shoulder in as biting a tone as he can manage, trembling as he is. ] And I'll figure it out along the way. I don't need your help.
noasark: (WHO MEEEEEEEE?)

> gently wraps this up so that you can focus on apps and things

[personal profile] noasark 2016-09-24 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Hnnhnnhnnhnnn... [Well.

He'll see you in a month then.
] I'll be sure to watch for your progress on the 'network' then, [he chuckles cryptically.

It's really best to let this sort of 'idiocy' sort itself out, after all.
]
alphaophiuchi: (brb death eater time)

/appreciates! <3

[personal profile] alphaophiuchi 2016-09-24 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
My... [ Draco did pause, turning abruptly to frown at the creature warily. He never did get a name out of him, and he's too wary to ask for one. He's not sure he wants one. He doesn't want to be friends with people here; he just wants to go home.

[ and so, with a huff, he forces himself to turn back around, padding back across the sand, stumbling once as the dune gives way beneath his bare feet. ]
noasark: (:3)

Good luck! Looking forward to In Game stuff with you!
