TEST DRIVE MEME: SEPTEMBER

Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!

SCENARIO ONE

You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.

SCENARIO TWO

So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.

SCENARIO THREE

"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.

SCENARIO FOUR

The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[ Wow, everyone's so generous. Elise is gratefully taking everything given to her, even the prank pamphlets, and making sure she thanks each person. Every time though she always stops to ask them the same question, and each time they can't answer her, so on her way she goes.

Apparently even with all the offered help, none of the locals can help her with what she's actually looking for... so with an armful of pamphlets and other things in her arms she decides to run up to the first monster or fellow arrival she sees. Maybe they could help! ]

Excuse me! Have you seen my brothers and sisters?

[ ...oh no. No wonder none of the locals could help her. ]

We were all together before I washed up on the shore, so they must be near by! They're all older than me and really tall, and--

[ You might want to stop her and break it to her that she's probably completely alone before she gets too ahead of herself... or humor her maybe? Sometimes siblings show up together after all; sometimes they're even already here! ]


4. Mermaid

[ Now that most of her initial changes are done, Elise has gotten a little more used to life like this. During the day she likes to explore the city; talk to locals, get to know them, gauge who likes monsters and who doesn't, etc. Of course she likes to make new friends too, with locals and other monsters.

She doesn't even mind her changes much honestly. It was painful when they came in, and it's still a little weird, but she actually thinks her changes are kind of cute! The fins and tail especially. Being able to have legs on land is also pretty convenient! It's almost like being a wolfskin, only without a beaststone. And also a fish!

Plus if Corrin can handle turning into a dragon then dang it, she can handle turning into a mermaid!

It does have its downsides though, as she's discovering right now: she wasn't paying attention to where she was going and ended up tripping straight into a deep puddle. ]

Ouch... that hurt... [ then her eyes widen and she turns her head back to look at her legs ] --Uh oh!

[ Sure enough under her skirt and in place of where her legs were a pink jellyfish tail exists instead. And it's a very pretty tail! One that she would be excited to see in any other circumstance. But right now she's really starting to wish she had a beaststone (fishstone...?) to control this with. ]

Oops...

[ There aren't any other puddles nearby... guess it's time to just crawl herself out and wait to dry. ]

[Camilla should have been sleeping still, it's only a couple hours before sunset, after all. She's mostly human looking at least. Still. With Elise wandering about it probably wouldn't hurt for someone to keep an eye on her and who better than her older sister?]

Elise--?

[She was around here somewhere... Oh god.]

Darling! [Nope. Camilla is picking her up. She's not as strong as she is during the night (and she really is tired) but she wasn't a weakling normally, either.] You know you should be careful around these things... Let's get you home and dried off.

[ One good thing that comes from Elise having a jellyfish bottom instead of a standard fish tail at least: she is considerably lighter than normal this way. Like nearly half her usual human weight. Easy pick ups for anyone, but especially tired mama werebear sisters ]

Camilla! [ oh boy is she glad to see you right now-- but also a little concerned ] What are you doing up? I thought you were still sleeping!

[Luckily, she's strong enough to be able to pick her up even out of the water but this? This is nice. She starts turning around to head back home. But that question stops her.]

I woke up and it was hard to get back to sleep. [Did she wake up and decide to start following Elise? Maybe.] It's only about an hour until sunset, at any rate, Elise.
