TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!
SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
this is already too cute for me send help
[God bless you and your everything right now, honestly. Chihiro might be scared out of his wits and in a lot of pain, but it's hard to be too upset when you've got a dog resting its head in your lap. And Chihiro, like most people, is pretty weak to animal influence...it helps to calm him down considerably, despite the fact he's trembling like a leaf and his ears are pinned to his head.
Hopefully Fuyuhiko doesn't mind being cautiously pet atop his furry little head as Chihiro tries to pull his legs a bit closer to himself, away from the sludge of blood and whatever else he left behind on the pavement over there.
...of course, that doesn't mean he isn't still crying. He's actually been, softly, this whole time.]
no help is coming for u
[For now, getting Chihiro to calm down and stop crying is more important. That's something both the human part of his brain and the dog part of his brain are in complete agreement on, even if dog brain's methods of comfort are winning out right now. So he makes a contented little noise, tail wagging slightly as he relaxes against the programmer.]
I regret everything
[Well one thing's for sure, it is helping. It's not making the pain go away, but he doesn't feel quite so vulnerable with the shiba inu with him. At least, he hopes another monster would be less likely to approach him with a dog that may or may not protect him, r...ight...
Chihiro sniffs, moving to scrub at his eyes with the heel of his hand, looking down at himself a bit now that the change seems to be mostly over. And...yep, those sure are actual deer legs. They've lost every last bit of humanity they might have had, hooves replacing his feet and awkwardly shaped knees and...it's just awful, really. And he hasn't even fully begun to rot away yet; that's going to be the real horror.
He looks down at the dog he's been petting all the while, his hand still a little shaky as it moves down the back of Fuyuhiko's neck.]
I...I don't know what to do...I d-don't think I can get up...
[He says to the pup, not actually expecting to be heard or understood.]
>8D
[But...he's at least calmed down enough to start talking now, right? He's stopped crying. Maybe...it's safe to at least start hinting that he's not quite a normal dog? Hmm...]
[Hmmm....]
[...yeah, okay. May as well. He's not gonna start talking just yet, but he does lift his head up and look the other boy right in the eyes. Something about the calm, steady look in his one good eye seems to suggest a level of understanding beyond what you'd expect out of a dog. Like maybe he didn't just hear what the other boy said.]
no subject
[Yeah, that's definitely not a response Chihiro was expecting. Sure, he might not have grown up with pets around the house, but he's met enough dogs to know that generally they might hold your gaze for a second before looking off at something else that's caught their attention. So to have this one watch him like this...it makes Chihiro sit up a bit straighter, or at least as best he can.
He thinks for a moment. If this dog is this friendly, then...]
You...probably belong to someone, don't you? I-is your owner nearby?
[If they are, they might be able to help him. And this dog might be smart enough to actually go get them.]
no subject
[Assuming this dog can actually understand what he's saying and this isn't just a weird coincidence, it's probably safe to say he doesn't have an owner. The fact that there's no collar around his neck would seem to suggest the same thing.]
no subject
[Ah, well. That answers that, doesn't it? Okay, maybe he can...try something else.
Chihiro looks up at the buildings lining the street, but he can barely see them thanks to the thick fog. Occasionally, he'll hear the sound of a monster howling in pain as they change, and it makes him start to shiver anew. Then, he looks back down at Fuyuhiko, running his hand over his ears.]
Okay, um...can you find somebody to help?
no subject
[Finally, after a few minutes, he opens his mouth. But it's not a bark that comes out, but rather the voice of a young man:]
I don't hafta go anywhere to do that.
[Yes, hello, he is somebody and he can help.]
no subject
[.......ah.
Very understandably, Chihiro ends up jumping the instant Fuyuhiko speaks, though he doesn't scream. He just stares at the dog, wide-eyed, like he can't quite believe what he's hearing. He's met many monsters over the last few weeks, but...talking animals haven't been a part of that. Could you count humans who turned into monsters as animals?
Basically, travel forms are a bit lost on Chihiro at this point.]
Y...y-you...
[He pulls his hand away from Fuyuhiko, then, but since he still can't get up, all he can do is sit there and lean back.]
You talked! You really...
no subject
Err...yeah. I really did. Normally, I wouldn'tve waited this long to say something but...you seemed pretty freaked out. Didn't wanna make that worse with a werewolf reveal.
no subject
A werewolf...
[Chihiro echoes softly, suddenly feeling a little...strange for petting him like he did. If he's a werewolf, that means he was a person too, once. He folds his hands in his lap, considering that one eye of his. It explains why he was looking at him so intently, anyway.
He really appreciates the discretion on Fuyuhiko's part, though. It's unlikely he would have taken to it as well while he was bawling his eyes out.]
Thank you. I...I didn't think I was going to suddenly start changing like that. I'm glad you didn't leave me alone.
