TEST DRIVE

Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:

• You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
• We now have a Quick Game Facts that simplifies the basic information about the game. Good if you want to see what the game is at a glance!

• The Reserve date is MAY 20ST 12:01AM EST.
• There is an Enable Me / App this Plz to see what some people are offering or would love to play.
• Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
• Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.

Sample scenarios:

SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."

Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.

SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...

SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

SCENARIO FOUR: The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.

Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

Well, [He laughs, grinning as he takes his typical, 'night' form. Looking all the more like someone stretched fur over a clothing rack, the alarmingly tall boy's ears flick, and he kicks his feet a bit from the edge of the roof.] You don't think I looked like this all the time do you? Hell, this is nearly three feet over where I ought to be!

[ He watches, surprised when the panda takes on a human form. It's like watching Beast Boy change right in front of him...despite the fact this isn't Beast Boy. Despite a lot of things. He's honestly not sure what to say right now, to be very honest.

Robin takes another look at the pamphlets, then back to the stranger. ] Care to explain how this happens?

[ He's tired, he's hurting, his temper's a little edgier than usual. Excuse him. ]

Well the short of it is the fog rolls in after a month, and for every fog after that you start turning into some sort of beasty until the bitter end of it. Then you're just sort of stuck that way.

The long version though, you're going to have to ask for, just in case you're the type to fall asleep through that kind of thing~

[ Okay. His brain processes that there's a fog that makes you gradually turn into a monster. When you were done...you were done. It's not a lot to go by, but it's at least something. It makes Robin feel a little bit better, anyway. ]

What's the reason behind all of this? The pamphlets say we were chosen.

[ He waves a few of them around. A part of Robin is happy that instead of his friends having to go through an experience like this, he'll do it for them. He can't stand to see his friends hurt, so in a way, not seeing them go through whatever hell Ryslig was going to deliver was a relief. But at the same time... ]

There's got to be a connecting point for all of this. It doesn't make sense otherwise.

Err...chosen... [The way he pulled a face at that, it's not a good word.] That's one way to put it I guess, 'Fog God' did snatch us out of however many in our own worlds after all...

Mostly she gets a kick out of watching people suffer on their way to joining her army-fucking delusional if you ask me, but you can't deny she's good at the 'kidnap and torment' bit at least.

Fog God? [ Now that was something the pamphlets didn't mention. Or at least, not that Robin saw. He raises an eyebrow, flipping through the collection of brochures he's collected in the past few minutes. ] None of these mentioned anything about gods. Is that some kind of religious cult?

[ Maybe there was more to it, since this guy was talking like the god was an actual person. ]

Are there any booklets on where I can read up more on this god? I had no idea about those until now.

I fucking wish it was a cult, mate-hell I used to be a god myself and I never heard of shit quite like this....

Nah, it's more that whoever she is she's got the power and stones to grab everyone and fuck around with them-whether she's a literal god or not.

[Reading is a new question though, and he takes a few minutes to blink it out.] About her?

[Hrm.] ...Your guess is as good as mine at this point-most of the lot here treat her more like some sort of fable, you know? She's not going to come up in any of those things... ...but she's bloody good at covering her tracks to get rid of whatever's incriminating...
