TEST DRIVE : MAY 2016 EDITIOIN

TEST DRIVE
Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:

  • You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
  • We now have a Quick Game Facts that simplifies the basic information about the game. Good if you want to see what the game is at a glance!
  • Ryslig's FAQ is located here, so please take a look if you have questions.

  • The Reserve date is MAY 20ST 12:01AM EST.
  • There is an Enable Me / App this Plz to see what some people are offering or would love to play.
  • Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
  • Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.

Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."

Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.

SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...

SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

SCENARIO FOUR: The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.

Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

[ Great, here he was: stranded on a planet whose name no one bothered to tell him, without BB-8 or his X-wing or anyone else he knew (and really, what had happened to the others? had something gone wrong during the jump to hyperspace? had he crashed, leaving the others alone in leading the attack?), stuck with an armful of pamphlets that... wait, did that one say something about a furry trout?

Yeah, the pamphlets were of zero help here.

His half-exhausted, half-frustrated sigh is short-lived, though, easily forgotten when he hears a voice, almost drowned in the crowd of people; he perks up, grins as he starts making his way towards the familiar figure emerging from the mass of locals. ]

Finn, buddy! [ He's nearly running, grin bright as he stops in front of Finn, spares a second to take in the sight of him really here before hugging him tight, patting his shoulder almost like to ascertain he's actually not dreaming this up. ]

I can't believe you're here, too! How did it go, did you find Rey? [ Because Finn, he must have reached Starkiller Base-- must have found his friend. Poe never had doubts about that; if anyone could infiltrate the base, find Rey and complete the mission... it'd be him. ]

[ For a while, he'd begun to wonder if he was alone here, even as he looked for Rey. In a place that was not a part of any system that he knew of. There was a sign with a city name that he'd passed nearby but Finn had never heard of it. Relief is apparent on his face as Poe gets closer -- and in the hug he returns.

At the moment, it's good to see him, not be alone in this place. Even as unfamiliar territory as it is, together they'd escaped the First Order once. This, this strange city -- maybe they could find a way out, here. ]

It's good to see you, man.

We did. Rey was already finding her way out when we found her. But I don't know where she is now... I haven't seen her since before waking up here.

[ and isn't that what makes him angry about all of this, that she could be in more danger. Maybe still back there on Starkiller. With Chewbacca and --

He sombers quickly. ]

There's one more thing... We lost Han Solo back on the base. Kylo Ren. He killed him.

[ His confidence in getting the hell out of here hasn't wavered, not really, but it is easier to believe in that chance when he knows he's not going to be doing it alone.

Poe grins at the first part of Finn's news, the knowledge that Rey was not only alright but also had apparently broken herself out, even with Kylo Ren there as her jailer. ]

Yeah... I haven't seen BB-8, either. Or my X-wing. [ Which is just about the weirdest thing, because he was in there before waking up here... and there were no signs of a crash-landing. There's a low edge of worry in his tone, concern mixed with bemusement, even anger, because someone, something caused this. And he's had just about enough of waking up on strange planets with no one else he knows around.

These thoughts are brought to a freezing halt by Finn's words, the world around them seeming to stop for a heartbeat.

We lost Han Solo.

No. No way. No, that's not- ]
No. The General... she's lost enough. Not him, too. [ Granted, Poe never really knew Han that well; when he joined the Resistance, Han was already back to his smuggling ways... but that doesn't mean he doesn't feel the loss.

After a pause, after passing his palm over his eyes, he breathes out words, quiet and seething. ]

... tell me you got him back. [ Tell him Kylo Ren didn't just walk away from that. Tell him that pile of bantha shit will blow up along with Starkiller Base. ]
