- You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
- We now have a Quick Game Facts that simplifies the basic information about the game. Good if you want to see what the game is at a glance!
- Ryslig's FAQ is located here, so please take a look if you have questions.
- The Reserve date is MAY 20ST 12:01AM EST.
- There is an Enable Me / App this Plz to see what some people are offering or would love to play.
- Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
- Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR: The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

...but then he's smiling from ear to ear, suddenly.]
Woah, five?! I don't even have ONE! What's it like?
I mean, I did have all those clones that one time...and they looked exactly like me, but they weren't my brothers at all or anything.
no subject
Uhh well it's... [Annoying.] ...exactly what you'd expect it to be?
Being the eldest, it's pretty tiresome having five younger brothers to take care of and boss around, and it's frustrating when strangers get us mixed up all the time.
[Osomatsu folds his hands behind his head nonchalantly while he continues, a thoughtful expression on his face.]
Our clothes are always bought in dozens and the only thing that really separates us from each other are our colours and names, and even our parents get us mixed up sometimes... it really messes with your sense of identity.
But, having six guys that all look the exact same isn't all bad, I guess. That's five more people to help you pull pranks, and five more people to be your wing-men when you go out to hit on girls at a bar.
[nevermind that they've never been successful with that before]
Plus, I can never lose a fight with my brothers by my side. We almost always outnumber everyone that tries to start something with me!
no subject
[Just, um. Satan's son. So definitely not his brother.]
Are they all here with you right now?
no subject
[It's a natural response, since there's almost never been a time where the six of them were legitimately split up from each other. Even when they went off to do their own personal things, Osomatsu had an idea of where they were. He could always go find them and bother them if he wanted to.
Here, though.... that's another story.]
I-I mean.. they're probably around here, somewhere. They wouldn't leave their big brother all alone in some weird place like this, they're probably terrified without me around!
[So he hopes, anyway.]
no subject
My name's Jimmy Two-Shoes, by the way. What's yours?
no subject
Osomatsu.
[Leaving last names off because he honestly doesn't care to be super formal around other guys, let alone someone as excitable and child-like as this guy.
He gives Jimmy a friendly looking smile though, and shoves his hands into his hoodie pockets, which he had forgotten were stuffed with those weird pamphlets. Come to think of it, he hasn't actually bothered to read any of them yet... so curiously, he'll pull one out and look the cover over.]
...what is this garbage? "Turning into Monsters for Dummys"?
[Osomatsu pulls out another, his expression only looking more annoyed at how they both seem to be about the same thing.]
no subject
[Jimmy doesn't actually seem all that concerned, though. Either he doesn't believe it, or he's taking this a lot easier than he really should.]
no subject
There's no way they're being serious about it, right?
[it's not like this is a halloween special or anything]
no subject
[You know, the ones that aren't humans.]
no subject
[Osomatsu's eyes widen a little in shock, and he whips his head around a couple of times -- to take a look at the few monsters helping newbies out.
When he turns back to Jimmy, he has a smile on his face but his eyes look... very uncomfortable.]
A-aren't those just.. people in costumes? Fun family mascots to take pictures with and beat the shit out of when you're bored?
no subject
[Now it's Jimmy's turn to look confused. And it's just that, in his case; confused, not necessarily uncomfortable.]
Why would they be costumes? Wouldn't it be more obvious if they were?
no subject
[None of them have zippers or soulless, black eyes though...]
no subject
I dunno...being taken away from home doesn't feel all that welcoming...
no subject
[Osomatsu holds his hands out in front of himself defensively, all of a sudden.]
I-it doesn't feel that great at the start, but maybe this place is somewhere really cool? Maybe all this "turning into monsters" crap is just some.. some.... cheap ploy to get you into whatever shitty setting they have here?
I mean, look at this place!
[He gestures widely then, at the world around them, and he takes in a deep breath before he continues.]
We're next to the ocean... and I've already been given free food, free offers to stay at motels and junk in town-- it can't be that bad!
no subject
Weeell...I guess you could be right? It's just so weird, though. The ocean doesn't look anything like this back home. I've never seen it all blue like that, or the sky either for that matter. But there's still monsters around, like home?
I keep feeling like I wound up on the wrong side of Miseryville, but nothing really looks the same!
